What horseshit. Fuck you, members of Reelviews.

I agree. Completely horseshit that smart people here gave that mediocre fanboy flick 8 nominations

Nine, actually. They Shoot Horses, Don't They got an astounding nine nominations without a Best Picture nomination.

Academy Award for Best Director (nominee)
Academy Award for Best Actress (Jane Fonda, nominee)
Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor (Gig Young, winner)
Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress (Susannah York, nominee)
Academy Award for Best Art Direction (Harry Horner, Frank McKelvy, nominees)
Academy Award for Best Costume Design (nominee)
Academy Award for Best Film Editing (nominee)
Academy Award for Best Score (nominee)
Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay (nominee)

It has all the hallmarks of a Best Picture nominee, too. I guess Hello, Dolly was more worthy of that spot. >_>

I'll have the results up very soon.

It was the best of the 2010 summer flicks, and one of the few mainstream pictures this year with a style of its own. Certainly nothing to sneeze at.

Good write-up Pedro. God I love that film. Forgot it got 9 not 8 though. I remember way back in the "Guess This Movie Game" I put up a They Shoot Horses Don't They picture and used that trivium as a hint. But it really should have gotten teh BP nom, if not a win.
