 Re: DORIAN GRAY (2009)
Thanks, JB, for reviewing this one. Otherwise, I wouldn't have known it existed.
I remember watching the original Picture of Dorian Gray as a kid. It was tame by today's standards; in fact, it was tame by the standards of the Universal horror movies of its own era. Yet, there was something about the menacing atmosphere of that movie, especially waiting to finally see that picture locked upstairs in the attic, that really creeped me out. And George Sanders was born to play that role.

Sweet. I'm always game for an unexpected Videoview. Doubly sweet: I actually have access to this film through a relative. I passed because it looked fairly terrible, but I'll certainly check it out now. Nice how these VideoViews can draw your attention to certain movies.

Hmmmm
I really like Colin Firth, but Ben Barnes was wooden as hell. 47% Rotten Tomatoes, 6/10 IMDB 4/10 from me

 Re: DORIAN GRAY (2009)
Yeah, apart from Colin Firth, I didn't particularly like this either.
How does a review end up on RottenTomatoes? Currently there isn't any review from a "Top Critic". If/when they link to James' review his will be the only one. That's bound to be worth some advertising dollars (more likely it'll be cents), right?

Hey, hey! That wasn't code for anything. I did get a borrow from a cousin. I won't say how he got it.

Most likely, considering it was his only novel.
