 Les Vampires - an overview
An overview of the silent serial Les Vampires (1915), strongly encouraging you to check it out if you haven't seen it already: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gcGx25-2-aY

Re: Les Vampires - an overview
Good stuff, that was well put together. I was only aware of this because of the 1000 Greatest Film list. Naturally, a name like Les Vampires interested me, but the running length immediately put me off. Good to know that it's a bunch of serials and that it's pulpy. Actually sounds like a fun watch which I hadn't expected at all.

Ultimately about 40, only one or two of which was less than 3 stars.

Re: Les Vampires - an overview
thanks. will keep an eye out for Murder by Contract, never heard of that until you mentioned it.
too bad you didn't see Brute Force, but that sounds like pretty comprehensive noir fest.

Re: Les Vampires - an overview
Yeah, Murder by Contract is highly recommended by me. Very low budget, but maybe the best pure character study in noir. Also, great dialogue; very Tarantino-esque at times.
