The Lost Weekend (TBA)
This week we have a beyond-popular franchise returning for its third installment; yet another comic property coming to the big-screen; and, with reasonable schedule delay of James' newfound joy (many blessings be to he and Sheryl), a capsule review of the 1945 alcoholism landmark, 'The Lost Weekend' - is still the best straight film about the topic (excluding the superior 'Leaving Las Vegas', which is really about bigger and bolder things). It looks like a pretty splendid week for our critical hero as he digs for answers to questions we have openly pondered/feared: Will the third 'Toy Story' mark a new plateau for Pixar sophistication, or establish an imposing new low on their creative endeavors and signal an alarming wave of uninspired sequels? Can Megan Fox escape the shadow of Optimus Prime and lay claim to yet another successful franchise? Will James blast one of my very favorite films to utterly depressing bits (Lord NOOOO)?

I'm surprised no-one wants to take a 4 star gamble on The Lost Weekend. James has a weakness for Billy Wilder (rightfully so) and, according to the Oscars (and Phil), this is one of his better pictures.
Me? I think it's (very) slightly overrated. A good movie, but it falls just short of greatness.

Jonah Hex - ** The presence of Megan Fox alone should be enough to keep this one grounded down to earth; plus the premise doesn't look too promising
The Lost Weekend - ***1/2 As one of the previous posters noted, James has a soft-spot for Billy Wilder so this should get high marks.
