Post Re: 24 (SPOILERS WELCOME)
And another season ends and it's the most open-ended ending since Season 2....that's gotta mean another 24 video game is coming out right?

*Has flashbacks of the buggy engine, horrible driving levels, the even more horrible Kim level and the infuriating aspect of not killing terrorists when they're begging for mercy. I showed that game who's boss though, I killed them anyways*

Eh, the game was still awesome.

Post Re: 24 (SPOILERS WELCOME)
Well, Season 7 is finally over and I have to say for me this was one of the best season ever, overall. It started out really strong and stayed that way past the midpoint, kinda slowed a bit with just a flew clunky parts, but once Tony killed Larry things kicked back into overdrive and the season finished strong. Great acting from just about everyone involved.

- I was glad Jack was able to tell Renee that he was being blackmailed into helping Tony escape before they left. Speaking of her...Wow, Renee kicked all kinds of ass tonight. She made sure Kim was safe, she found Jack in time, disarmed the bomb strapped to him, and helped him stop Tony from killing Wilson.

Man, I was suprised they left her going after Wilson as a cliffhanger. Did she go all Jack on him or not? Either way, I seriously doubt Renee is going to be with the FBI next season. Either she's going to resign or get fired if she interrogated Wilson. She will be working at CTU with Jack and Chloe next season is my guess.

Thanks to Annie Wersching for bringing Renee Walker to life and giving us a awesome character to root for. Can't wait for Jack and Renee to be back in action for Season 8!

- When last weeks episode ending I was like "Oh no, Kim is going to be held hostage AGAIN?!" Well, kudos to the writers for not going there, yeah she was held hostage, for about a minute before she channeled her father and took out her captor with a PEN! Then she chases after the other guy and saves his laptop before his car explodes, and because of her quick thinking Renee, Chloe and Janis were able to figure out where Jack was being held. I liked how she explained to Renee why she saved the laptop and how they could use it to find Jack, thanks to her time working at CTU which she also mentions. Nice to see Kim finally showing everyone she is Jack Bauer's daughter.

- Man I felt so sorry for Jack, seeing him get strapped down like that and be made a guinea pig so the bad guys could try and make another bio-weapon. Freaking loved it when he played possum and when they untied him he proced to kill the living f*ck out of those evil doctors. Loved that scene, even sick and dying Jack can take out 3 men in less than 10 seconds.

- Tony....Tony Tony Tony.....I was glad we finally found out his motivation. Everything he did during the season was all about one thing- Revenge. He found out Alan Wilson had been working with Logan back in Season 5 so he pretended to go work for them, gain their trust, so he could meet Wilson and kill him. He used Jack, Bill, Chloe, everyone...didnt care if he had to kill innocent civillians or smother a good man like Larry Moss to death....nothing was going to stop him from getting his revenge. That scene with him and Jack where they just ripped into each other and Tony explained everything was awesome, great acting from Keifer and Carlos.

Oh and the fact that Michelle was pregnant with their son when she was killed......ouch. No wonder Tony went off the deep end. And damn, he even killed his new girlfriend Cara, now THAT was cold. She really had feelings for Tony, but he was just using her to get to Wilson.

I'm glad Jack and Renee didn't kill him, I wonder if we are ever going to see Tony again....despite what he did in Season 7....I would still like him to come back again.

- Loved the scene with Jack and Renee before he was taken to the hospital. It was cool how she asked Jack what she should do about Wilson and he gave her some great advice, warned her about that slippery sloap and that she makes choices she can live with. Loved the tenderness there, the two of them have formed quite the bond of friendship during the course of Day 7. There are definatly feelings on both sides, so it's going to be interesting seeing where things go next for their relationship in Season 8. I wonder if they will go toward a romance, if they share a kiss next season I won't be suprised.

- Loved Aaron and Ethan exposing Olivia's involvement in the murder of Jonas Hodges. Nice move by Ethan where he gave Aaron the real recording and gave Olivia a blank tape to destroy. "It's a good thing I'm paranoid Agent Pierce." I'm glad they gave Olivia the option to tell her parents the truth rather than just throwing her to the wolves. Awfully kind of them despite her actions, esp toward Ethan.

- Wow, I was shocked when the President choose to not cover up what Olivia did and had her taken into custody. Her son is dead, her daughter is going to be charged with murder and her husband, The First Gentlemen, may never forgive her for turning Olivia in. Like she told Ethan, she has lost her family. I really felt sorry for her. She kept the country safe but it cost her just about everything. Ouch.

- Loved the final scene, I knew Kim wasn't going to let Jack just pass on and I smiled with joy when she told Dr. Macer that she wanted to do the experimental treatment. What a tearjerker ending with Kim sitting at Jack's bedside, him in a medical coma, and she just holds his hand and says "I'm sorry Daddy, but I'm not ready to let you go." After all the times in past seasons where he saved her, now Kim finally got to save her father.

This season rocked, washed away the bad taste of Season 6 and then some. I hope they can keep it going with Season 8, bring on Jack and company in the New York City.

Now the hard part, having to wait 8 months for 24 to return. Ugh.

Time to start counting the days untill January.

The reveal of Tony's permanent unborn son would've been good...if Carlos Bernard's acting wasn't so over-the-top and full of Narm. And it was even more jarring since Tony's cold-blooded killing of that woman whose name I never got was A Freakin' Crowning Moment of Awesome.

And speaking of Crowning Moments of Awesome, Agent Pierce's "No ma'am" tops his tied-up captured speech to Logan in Season 5.

As for Kim, we get it. She's hot, we don't need her to be set on fire to convey that.

And lastly, if Jack doesn't berate Kim next season for saving his life using these exact words "Dammit Kim! I made peace with Allah!", I will be disappointed...I'm practicing my disappointed face now.

Kim saying dammit made me and my parents laugh!

It was a good finale despite my disappointment of where they ended up taking Olivia's storyline.

As far as ranking it with other season finales, it's better than 3 and 6 but not as great as 1,2,4 and 5.

Season 7 as a whole was pretty good. It started off underwhelming, but hours 9-18 were STELLLAR, then it got kind of underwhelming again but ended on a relatively satisfying note. Not sure where I'd rank this season yet. Season 5,2 and 3 are definitely still my favorite seasons. Not quite sure where to rank this season yet.

:) During Tony's scene, I just had "Narm! Narm! Narm!" playing in my head. I take it you're a troper of sorts.

I'm glad that Tony didn't eat a bullet in this episode. The reveal that his entire plan was for revenge was a bit out of left field and they did a great job tying in this conspiracy with the one that led to Palmer's death. Tony can make for a very interesting antagonist next season.

I'm also glad that Kim finally showed why she is Jack's daughter.

And the cliffhanger at the end with Renee was interesting. Where are they gonna go with this I wonder?

I'm kinda shocked that this season ended without a major cliffhanger. It was weird seeing the final clock strike and know that everything this season was resolved and ended almost hopefully and not with Jack being kidnapped by the Imam and taken to Iran my nationals or some other crazy stuff like that.

Post Re: 24 (SPOILERS WELCOME)
I liked the ending to this season, which overall I thought was very strong.

- As for whether Renee went Jack on Alan Wilson, I don't think she did. Despite everything she's been through this season, it's just not her. Jack would do it, but she wouldn't. And as said before, thanks to Annie Wersching for giving us a great character. I hope she's back next season.

- Great scene between Jack and the Imam when Jack was on his deathbed. I've said it before, I'll say it one more time, the writing this season was fantastic.

- When Kim yelled "Dammit!" I did get a pretty big smile on my face. Over the top? Sure. Fun? Absolutely!

- I also hope Tony comes back next season. He's an interesting character: a man so obsessed with revenge that he's willing to let hundreds of people die just so he can kill one person.

- Good job by the President to put the law ahead of her family. It was probably the right call, even though it meant her family would be destroyed. Although I seriously doubt her presidency will survive a scandal like that, so now she'll be alone, disgraced, and out of a job. Hope they come back to her next year.

I only started watching 24 beginning with season five. I watched the first part of season one, but missed a few episodes and didn't watch it after that. Of the three complete seasons I've seen, this was clearly the best. Season five was pretty good, season six not so much. I can't wait to see what happens with these characters. January can't come soon enough.

Post Re: 24 (SPOILERS WELCOME)
Ok, it's late, but here's my thoughts.

Good finale to close up a weak string of episodes beforehand. Olivia's storyline had a fitting ending ("Spare me, Olivia" by Ethan was EXCELLENT). Aaron was good today, like he was in Season Five. The White House portion has always been the weaker subplot (with the exception of Day 5) and this was leagues better than the Presidency in Days 3 and 6. I have no idea what's going to happen to Taylor; she should make her daughter be charged then pardon her IMO.

Janis and Tony were poorly written characters. Tony not as much as Janis, however. Janis sees 4 co-workers die in less than 24 hours, her closest co-worker is a mole and kills someone he's having an affair with, her superior dies, and all she's worried about is racial profiling? I'm sorry, but that's a little unbelievable. Tony was a let down because he wasn't compelling enough. You learn his motives at the last minute and his character seemed a little off to me.

New characters? Senator Mayer was excellent, and Sean was an obvious mole. His girlfriend was an interesting, yet predictable, twist, and Renee was good as a love interest but I fail to see the chemistry between her and Jack. She's infinitesimally better than Audrey Raines (the biggest detriment to Seasons 4 and 6, she was good in 5). Jack and Renee could get a Steed/Emma Peel rapport from the original Avengers thing going.... that'd be a good relationship there.

Kim was the best she's ever been, and this is coming from someone who enjoyed her character. She was a victim of bad writing (cougar, working at CTU) and was a little whiny brat, but she's matured and is much, much better. As for other returners, Aaron was welcome, as were Ethan. Dr. Sonny Macer was an odd surprise but had too small of a role to actually matter too much.

Now to Jack. Jack, Jack, Jack. The Imam at the end was bad... sure he's repenting but there are so many others in your life you could talk to. The Imam was an obvious response to the criticism they got from Day 6. It seemed slightly forced, too. That should've been something in Redemption, not the finale to Day 7. Redemption should have had these moments. Jack went back and forth from good guy and bad guy so many times it was a little unbelievable, but then again it's 24. A return to CTU will be good next season. The break is good, but it's always good to return.

Now, my ranking of the seasons from high to low.

Day 5
Day 1
Day 7
Day 2
24: The Game
Day 4
Day 3
24: Redemption
Day 6

So I was bored and decided to fire up 24: The Game, it was like hanging out with some old friends. Thoughts on the game itself can be found on my blog.

Post Re: 24 (SPOILERS WELCOME)
Season 8 is finally here!

After watching the first 4 episodes last week, I think its off to a good start. I like Freddie Prinze Jr as Cole, nice to see Katee playing something different than Starbuck (Although the storyline with her ex-boyfriend is one of the few clunkers) and Chole out of her comfort zone as not being the only computer genius at CTU. The actor playing President Hassan is really good, I like him alot. Hastings has been mostly a douchebag so far, but I like the actor playing him.

Renee coming back all f'd up and hardcore made sense and it's working great so far, I love it. My jaw nearly hit the floor when she sawed the Russian's thumb off to get the parole bracelet off. I found it hilarious how Jack was pissed off and horrifed that Renee did that, when just a few seasons ago he would have done something just like that without any hesitation. Remember when he used a hacksaw to cut a guys head off in Season 2? (although the guy was already dead, still...) Or when he had to chop Chase's hand off to free him from the suitcase containing the virus in Season 3?

It's a good thing Jack decided to stay to keep en eye on her. It's going to fun watching how the undercover op goes with this dynamic.

I thought Season 8 got off to a fine start too. I also came up with the three most overused lines of dialogue Jack in particular uses:

"Millions of lives are at stake!"
"We're running out of time!"
"This is over!"

Renee stabbing Jack in the stomach was such a HOLY SHIT moment!

But then it went from a shocker to a badass moment when Jack took the knife out of his stomach and threw it into the one bad guy hitting his throat! 8-)

Renee going psycho HAS to be the best scene of the season thus far.

Really good episode. This season got off to a rocky start, but ever since Renee went undercover it's been very good.

I just hope they drop the stupid storyline involving Dana Walsh and her equally idiotic ex boyfriend. That storyline is seriously bogging down what has otherwise been a great last few episodes.

Yeah, the blonde woman and her boyfriend story line is awful
Slumdog Millionaire's Anil Kapoor is the great actor previously alluded to
Renee is the huge surprise for me. She could transition to the big screen me thinks
Good so far

I actually thought the whole undercover storyline wasn't very compelling. In fact, I have been fairly unimpressed with this season so far. I completely agree with everyone else that the Dana/Jenny storyline isn't very good, and will hopefully be dropped soon. I did enjoy the last 15 minutes of last night's episode, and hope that it's the beginning of improvements of what I feel is thus far a disappointing season.

I thought you weren't watching this season Rob.

God knows I haven't, I just have no desire. And then I read about Renee stabbing Jack, Jack pulling the knife out and throwing it to a terrorist's throat and that makes me sad.

You shouldn't judge without seeing it.

I guess I can understand how it sounds, but it's REALLY well executed. Renee going psycho on the Russian guy and then stabbing Jack. Then Jack pulling the knife out of his stomach and throwing it at another bad guy coming in. It's just such an awesome moment.

Really good acting on Annie Wersching's part.
