Thank you sir. I think it's fair to say it's a mystery to many that a guy sitting in a financial veal fattening pen cubicle has more to do with killing a indie production and the industry as a whole, like determining a delivery date (usually making it razor thin, and even that's an understatement) and slamming high interest reserve penalties if it's missed then a lack of interest by distribution companies..although, it all plays a role in the slump, or gutter this industry is in...

Maybe they should package a bunch of indie film loans together and sell em to wall street. Or all indie film-makers can pitch in for a lobbyist to march up to the FED and beg for a credit allocation...at least it will create jobs

Go watch the Enron movie. It ain't such a fuckin mystery. :) :(

I miss Madstone Theaters.

It was a wonderful day when Madstone opened; 8 screens of indie films ALL AT THE SAME TIME. Good food and coffee. It was quite successful here.

Unfortunately it wasn't so successful at it's other 7 locations, or the company was badly run. Either way, they closed up shop a few years ago.

Where are people in secondary (or tertiary) markets supposed to see independent films?

And on the same day J.D. Salinger's heart called it a day, no less.

And a day after Howard Zinn passes too.

Man. I listen to a lot of NPR and hadn't heard that. I also check Drudge report (something that one shouldn't do unless blessed with a constitution both strong and immune to most negativity) and hadn't read about Zinn -- that's something you'd think Matt Drudge would have been thrilled about.
