I wrote a mildly creative humor piece about Monday's episode. Spoilers if you haven't seen it and are currently living under a rock.

I just saw the episode today with no spoilers........I am still in a small state of shock. I recorded House and 24 back to back and couldn't watch 24 cause I had to get away from my TV for a few hours after watching House. I was really growing to like the banter between Kutner and Taub too and this was just out of left field.

Personally, I wish they'd off Forman and make 13 a dedicated bi-sexual :)

After last week's dreary and subpar episode, I'm pleased that the show was back on track with this week's superb episode. Everything was great again. Last week really felt like to me, that different writers took over the show. Writers who clearly did not understand the characters. This week things are back to normal with House affected by Kutner's suicide but not acting wierd and unusual like last week. Ditto for everyone else. For once this season, Chase and especially Cameron actually got decent screen time. I loved their scenes. And the proposal was surprisingly sweet and well handled. The scenes between House and Wilson were hilarious and great, as they always are. And Amber appearing to House at the end was awesome. Can't wait for next week.

The end of last week's episode may have been a even bigger WTF?! moment than Kutner's suicide. First, you have a (dare we say relieved?) House exhibiting the musical talents of Hugh Laurie (always fun to watch on the show)....and then it just freezes and there is....AMBER?

One of two things will happen from this point: the show will completely jump the shark with this "hallucination" thread....or the writers will totally impress us and pull it off. I'm wanting the believe the latter will be true.

The end of the third season would have been a terrific farewell for the series. As intriguing as some of the stuff in season four was (particularly the House's Head/Wilson's Heart cycle), it really just felt like the series was on life support. [...] My problem isn't with the formula. The plots of House are unshakably formulaic, but it's the characters, not the plots, who make the show interesting. My problem is that the new characters still aren't as interesting as the old ones, and the old ones have been stretched far too thinly.

My thoughts exactly. The first half of the third season was weak due to the whole asshole cop story arc (how many times have we seen David Morse play this exact same character?). I don't know about anyone else, but I tune in to see House/Hugh Laurie kick ass, not being on the receiving end. It got a lot better after the end of that arc though.

Season 4 was disappointing. I keep wishing for the old team to come back the whole time. While the new team is.... alright, I just don't like them the same way as the old team. Thirteen, in particular, is Cameron lite. The way Chase and Cameron was relegated to basically cameo roles was just shameful, and out of the three, my least favourite of the old team, Foreman, came back. :? And then the whole Wilson-Amber thing did not work with me, as it detracted from Wilson and House's banter, my favourite part of the show.

I may pick up Season Five when it comes out on DVD, I don't know. The show has lost my viewership.

Can i be the first to exclaim the first ever sighting (to me anyway) of a direct Black Adder reference in a House episode?

Laurie in full Prince George regalia at the 80's party in tonight episode.

How many people catch these things? I hope lots!

I'ld love to see Stephen Fry as a guest in one of the episodes. It would be cool considering the partnership between Hugh Laury and Stephen Fry.

Any thoughts on the new season, folks? I think we've had some good, solid workmanlike episodes while avoiding the craziness that permeated last year (despite the fact that a lot of that craziness went off in interesting directions). It's not a groundbreaking season, but it's still fun to watch.

Oh, and agreed, WHERE IS STEPHEN FRY? I suspect he'll show up on the series finale as God, or something.

I'm really enjoying this season. The House/Wilson relationship has always been one of the best aspects of the show, and they're really playing it up this season.

Also, I noticed that for the last season or two, the writers were downplaying the patient aspect of every episode (probably because they were finally too formulaic), and concentrating more on the staff's storylines. This year, however, they seem to be going back to focusing more on the patient cases, and, to me, they're sort of exciting and suspenseful once again. It's a cool back-to-basics type season, as I see it.

I recently saw the final episode of this show, and I have to say that it was pretty good as a way to end the series. The whole Wilson-has-cancer story arch was a surprise to me as I hadn't followed the show since season 6. Having previous cast members coming in as parts of House's subconscious was a nice tough, particularly Kutner (Kal Penn), whose character was written out of the show so suddenly. It still doesn't mean that the show could be considered one of the all-time greats, as the last 3 seasons really took it downhill, IMO.

I thought the series finale sucked.

[Reveal] Spoiler:
I'm sorry but they spent the majority of the episode with House contemplating killing himself and his subconscience, in the form as past characters, trying to talk him out of killing himself. Only for him to determine that he doesn't want to die and tries to leave but the fire appears to have killed him anyway. Only for us to find out that it was all a ruse to begin with for House to fake his death so he and Wilson can spend Wilson's remaining days together, instead of House going back to jail? So, what does that make of the stuff of House trying to talk himself out of suicide, if it was all a setup to beging with?!!

God, what a shitty episode, made even worse because it was the show's final episode.

I also have to say that I'm very disappointed by the show for having Wilson take the cowardly way out and not do anything else about his cancer. I'm sorry, I don't care what anyone says but that's basically suicide. He might as well take a gun, point it at his head and blow his brains out.

It's too bad the season ended on such a sour note because I thought the season as a whole was fine one. I especially love the Jeffrey Wright episode and then afterwards when Chase's behavior is destructive. For so long in the show, Jesse Spencer was so largely wasted but they gave him some great stuff this season.

Well...Wilson is an oncologist (irony alert) so I think he knows what his chances of survival would be (which were 0 as presented in the show) so he chose his own course after years of watching patients go through the trials of treatment. I'm guessing that 5.5 months later it will be up to House to put him down when things get too bad.

Well maybe he was planning on committing suicide initially, but changed his mind and then made the best of the situation he created? I dunno if that fits or not, 'cos I wasn't really paying attention for most of the episode. House had been going downhill literally since the end of season 1 imo.
