I'm happy to say that I haven't seen a single movie on this list.

I saw (and sort of enjoyed) 2012.

Well it's nice to seee Transformers 2 didn't make the list, and really most of these films really do sound terrible(though Halloween 2 does sound decent and I rarely trust mainstream critics reviews of horror films), though for the record i'll gladly watch Old Dogs over Dead Poets Society, cause I absolutely HATED Williams in that sickeningly overrated and hollow movie more then in anything else he's ever starred in.

Is it just me or does anyone else want to see a internet show with Vexer reviewing movies. It's like a license to print money especially if he ever sees Old Dogs and hates it more than Dead Poets. As for the list, I only seen 12 Rounds....it sucked.

Okay, you may not trust me on H2, but how about Scott Weinberg, who is among the most trusted and dedicated horror reviewers out there. He is just as eloquent in his condemnation of that piece of shit.

It's kinda a shame that it's not in order. I actually had to click on Fired Up! because I couldn't remember that movie at all. My guess is #2 is Halloween II and #3 is Miss March; the rest I have not a clue, except #10 is 2012.

It kind of reads as a worst of the okay movies this year.
In the past I have criticized you James for thinking you can predict whether a film will be worth seeing beforehand, but this list of mediocre-but-mostly-not-completely-awful films shows you did a pretty good job. If you had sat through Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li or Gamer they would be on the list I'm sure, but everyone could pretty much assume that without an actual review from you.

JB, that hurt my innards. It seems that your vernacular wasn't impervious to the "epic fail" phrase either.

Personally, I prefer 'Epic Phil'.
The italics are non-negotiable, by the way.

Great piece for T-giving. These movies must be really horrid to have bumped Transformers 2 off the list. I saw that on a plane and had to turn it off halfway through. It was likely watching a 2.5 hour extremely loud trailer for another movie.
Looking forward to seeing your best of the 90's. Any chance your previous "best of" can be put in one place for easy access?

I can honestly say i've never heard of Weinburg before, so his opinion dosen't mean much ot me either, one thing you should know about me by now is that when I want to see a movie, i'm gonna see it no matter how many negative reviews it gets. Oh yeah and I did also see 12 Rounds and I enjoyed that for what it was, and Trevor-James actually DID review Gamer.

James, is a "worst of the decade" coming to us?

A root canal and a prostate exam sounds better than watching Transformers 2 on a plane. Where's Sam Jackson when you need him?

My mistake, although my point about him not watching many of the worst films of the year still stands I think.

Re: November 26, 2009: "Turkey Day! (The 2009 Bottom 10)"
Hmmm... I did notice that Ebert had rated 2012 highly, but he occasionally lets something popular slip have its star rating; I often felt that there is an element of "I am feeling charitable" to some of these scores, and indeed sometimes the score is "contextualized" inside the review itself; case in point, he says "...is it about as good as a movie in this genre can be? Yes." Hardly a strong supportive comment. I prefer Mr. Berardinelli's reviews, however, since score and text agree together. And I noted with sadness that there have been few (zero) and half star movies of late; those are some of the best reviews

I believe James is avoiding movies with the potential to score that badly for the sake of his sanity and to avoid a complete burnout. In fact, I recall him stating something that implied that in a previous Reelthoughts post.

I have just seen OLD DOGS and i must say that he's right about it being the worst of the year...and i do believe that SHORTS should've made the list as well, if James had reviewed it of course. It is a little disappointing that James didn't put the list in order, I hope he puts the 10 best movies in order...

What would the top 'Dog' of this decade be, anyhow?
P.S. - I have a feeling it actually won't be 'Battlefield Earth'.
