At the risk of damaging my reputation for good taste...I can't be the only one excited about the premiere tonight, right?

Right?

:?

I never got the appeal of this show, the dialogue is sometimes so awful it makes me cringe, i'm way more excited about the premiere of One Tree Hill. Mainly cayse the Tree Hill cast has 10 times more acting talent then the cast of Gossip Girl, plus the storylines are far more compelling.

My ears perk up for "One Tree Hill" only because my parents walked through the set while they were filming about a month ago, so it's a possibility they'll be on TV at some point. That's about it.

Well I mainly got into OTH cause my sister watched it all the time, it's one of the few teen shows that I actually like as it's smarter than most of the other shows on the CW, especially the new 90210, which is just lousy to say the least.

I agree that Gossip Girl has some pretty lousy acting. However, I love it for the salicious nature of it.

As far as OTH...I will agree that the storylines are more exciting, but I mean, come on! Their season premiere will probably feature a school shooting, two unrelated murders, an incestuous love triangle, aliens, chipmunks, a dog fighting ring and a teacher who doubles as a prostitute to middle schoolers. Who can compete with that kind of drama!

Well I would say The O.C. is arguably even more over-the-top in the drama department, though it never kept my interest as season 4 was where the show lost it's focus and became increasingly more desperate. And Gossip Girl may not be remarkable as a whole, but Leighton Meester herself is a pretty solid actress.

I loved The OC. My favorite teen drama is Dawson's Creek. I LOVE that show. Own all the seasons on dvd. My So Called Life is a not too distant second place. Shame that it ended when it did.

I never saw an episode of One Tree Hill. Looks like crap to me. Gossip Girl was boring as hell to me. The new 90210 is a mockery on the original which I like. But I'll give it credit where it's due. It somehow manages the amazing feat of being both boring AND unintentionally hilarious. That's not an easy thing.

2 short-lived drama series that I loved were Jack And Bobby and Do Over, both unjustly cancelled by the WB, the latter was cancelled due to high ratings of Grounded For Life. 7th Heaven was alright but forgettable. And My advice for One Tree Hill is to watch the aerlier seasons, like 1-4, cause season 5 was around the point fans agreed that the show went downhill, and for this season 2 of the main characters have left the show permanaently, so it's a difficult adjustement for some people to make, but it's still a good show though. And it certainly beats the hell out of Smallville, Supernatural and the Vampire Diaries, *shudder* all shows I wish would get cancelled soon.

Smallville's still on? This looks like CW's "King of the Hill", a show that will never die until nobody cares about it.

Yeah it's still on unfortunately, though thankfully it isn't nearly as bad as KOTH, or Supernatural and Lost for that matter, but it's still definitely WAAAYYYYY past it's prime.

Vexer don't take offense to this because I don't mean anything by it but you and I clearly have WILDLY differing tastes, at least when it comes to television, if you like Gossip Girl yet hate Lost and Supernatural.

In my eye, Supernatural is the ONLY great show currently on the CW. Smallville is okay to me as well from what I've seen.

Everything else on the channel is pure crap. Actually I thought the new Melrose Place was so-so. Not crap, but not good either.

Whoa! I didn't say I liked Goossip Girl at all! I only said i liked the lead actress-Leighton Meester, but otherwise I think the show is damn overrated, but it's vastly more tolerable than Supernatural for me, as I think Jensen Ackles is quite honestly one of the most wooden actors ever, he has less emotional range then a totem pole IMO, I can't help but laugh every single time he opens his mouth.

It's like watching 6 five year old children crying for a new tricycle.

The show's a HUGE waste of time.

Fellow DC fan here; Fell in love with the film-making aspect in season one, but lagged behind & lost interest sometime in the second season in its initial run. I didn't finish the series till a few years ago when I bought each season, one by one.
Other than that, I guess I'd place the OC second, since I think it's the only teen drama series I've watched and not wanted to turn it off straight away (FYI, I quite liked it, actually).
These days, the only series watch is 'Supernatural,' although I would like to see more 'Burn Notice' and maybe check out some more 'True Blood' in the future.

Whoops! My mistake. I got some of your posts confused with the first post for some odd reason.

I still can't imagine actually liking One Tree Hill despite the fact that Sophia Bush is pretty friggin' hot.

Well I can't imagine anyone actually liking Supernatural myself.

I know lots of people who have been extras on that show, seeing as I live in eastern NC.

Yeah, and there's user on the One Tree Hill forums at TV.com who actually lives in Wilmington, NC-the town where OTH is filmed, and she actually saw Sophia Bush at a nightclub, she was real excited about that.
