 How Well Do You Think You Know James? (Weeks 27 & 28)  Double The Pleasure, Double CitronSeptember 4 (Fri): CARRIERS *September 7 (Mon): 9 September 8 (Tue): FLAME & CITRON This week we are doubling up and trimming down before a return to normalcy with week 29. Weeks 27 and 28 will be brethren, and the winner(s) of this week shall get TWO points for a victory. The films on display include a pandemic variation on the road trip, 'Carriers', the Tim Burton-produced pot apocalyptic CG adventure, '9', and the war-time biddy film 'Flame & Citron'. Hopefully, the boost in rewards will provide some of the smaller names a chance to advance more quickly on the Leaderboard, or even give someone a multiple-win debut. Of course, it could just as well end up that one of the big baddies such as oafolay or ram1312 step up and seal the deal with a win. Either way, it should be a nail-biter. * - This film is tentatively being reviewed. However, even if it is not reviewed, the competition ends on Friday as it if it had been. Good luckno-no-no!

Take note of how many "not being screened for critics" movies have done better than **.

9: *** The visual and technical prowess is undeniable as was evidenced by the trailer, plus Tim Burton attached his name to it so it should be worthwhile.
Flame & Citron: *** Looks like a tense WWII thriller and we know from past experience that James tends to go gaga for that sort of thing.

As often happens in weeks like this, when a bunch of movies are not screened for critics, logistics determine what I see. CARRIERS, as it turns out, is not convenient to see. ALL ABOUT STEVE and GAMER are. There's also a late screening of WORLD'S GREATEST DAD tonight. So that means I'll have a review of DAD up tomorrow afternoon, followed by ALL ABOUT STEVE at night. I should be able to get to GAMER on Saturday.
No CARRIERS at all, though, unless I hear it's the greatest non-screened movie ever (which is, to put it mildly, unlikely).
