This week's episode was decent but it was really just a filler episode. Yeah, there were some good moments but nothing much actually happened.

Wow, did we watch the same episode? How is the meeting between Jonas and Jack "nothing much actually happened"? I guess, I mean, we just had one of the seminal acting moments of the season. We just had Jack shouting at Janice (thank you) and going nuts. We got Chloe back. We got CTU-lite online. But nothing much happened? I think you're off on this one.

Maybe there was just too much awesome-ness for his brain to comprehend.

Like I said, there were some good moments but it was a filler episode. The story just barely nudged forward only a tiny bit.

If I were to list the 5 weakest episodes of the season this would make it.

The Jack/Jonas scene was a good scene. Jack yelling at Janis was amusing. I liked the scenes with Chloe and Olivia. And probably my favorite scene in the episode was when the group that Tony is delivering the bioweapon to vote on whether or not to move forward right away with another attack.

Will Patton hasn't even really done anything and he's still badass.

But this was definitely a weaker episode than the last several episodes and it was definitely a filler episode. Or, I suppose more accurately, it should be called a setup episode since this episode probably set things up for the bigger stuff to come hopefully begining next week.

I'm sitting through this season thinking what's the point? If Jack stops the bomb there's just going to be another one next season and no one will ever be grateful for anything he's ever done. It's like this ongoing groundhog day, the same thing again and again.

Ive been with the show from the very beginning, I used to wait all week for it to air and it was edge of your seat stuff. I'll stick with it but it really needs something new and not just a bunch of new characters who are just a rehash of old ones.

I 100% agree

24 used to be must see TV for me. It jumped the shark and became a ridiculous parody of itself too long ago.

My girlfriend and I have agreed that we will see this season through and that will be it.

Over and out

Well...now this was a filler episode with a couple things actually happening. Hopefully the next episode is better.

But I'm sure ilovemovies loved it and is going to tell us how important this episode is to the season.

Post Re: 24 (SPOILERS WELCOME)
Although tonight was more setup to build toward the finale, it was still good. Besides the Jack/Chole scene where he tells her he's dying I loved all the little Jack and Renee interactions.

You can tell she's still worried and concerned for Jack, but she still believes in him that he can help her stop the attack. I love that she verbalized that to the Imam before her and Jack raided the apartment. Every time Jack pauses, forgets something or winces in pain Renee checks on him by asking him if he's ok. Its a nice subtle way of her looking out for Jack while their working to catch Tony and stop the bio-weapon attack.

I also liked that Jack apoligised to the Muslim Priest when Chole figured out the guy was being made a patsy by Tony and co. The conversation in the car was good stuff.

Ooooh, Olivia, your in deep sh*t now girl. Yeah, you tried to back out but it wasn't fast enough, now Hodges is dead and she's in way over her head. I don't know if Aaron is going to help bail her out of this mess or turn her in to the President. I bet her pal is going to try some blackmail on her just like the reporter did.

RIP Jonas Hodges, you were a great villian but now your going to have to deal with your actions in the next life, good luck with that. Major Kudos and thanks to Jon Voight for a excellent perfomance.

It was also nice to see the First Gentlemen is doing well, I liked the scene with the First Family, although it may be the last happy moment they have this season with the hole Olivia has dug for herself.

Nice touch with the brother of the Muslim Patsy when he broke the mirror and stabbed his captor when Jack and Renee busted down the door. That's what I would have done if I was being held hostage like that.

Next Week: So are they going to gas the subway, or is the subway taking the Patsy to the real target? They showed Kim in the preview, I have a bad feeling she's about to get sucked back in, in a bad way. Best Part: Jack has Tony at gunpoint and tells him if he doesn't tell him where the canister is he'll blow his brains out....and Tony tells him to pull the trigger!

I can't wait for the next episode.

Post Re: 24 (SPOILERS WELCOME)
Um, no. This was definitely another filler episode. Two underwhelming episodes in a row. Not cool.

Having said that, I still liked this episode. The last 10 minutes saved it IMO. From the point where Jonas was killed and on there was some good stuff.

First of all, I'm LOVING Olivia's story. I love that she was unable to go through with having Jonas killed and backed down in the last moment only for it to happen anyway and now she's scared. Loving this story. I'm geniunly excited about where they are going with this.

I also liked the scenes between Jack and the priest.

Well, that's pretty much it. Actually, the scene between Jack and Chloe was actually pretty touching.

This episode was about on par with last week's episode. Decent but definitely one of the weaker episodes of the season.

Fortunately, next week looks like it'll pick up again and I can't wait for that scene they showed in the promos between Jack and Tony. Gonna be INTENSE!

Way too political. I watch 24 to be entertained, not preached at!

Beginning of season was great, hasn't been good at all since Tony's turned (again). Poorly written, POORLY written characters like Janis, Tony, Sean Hillinger! Ugh!

Three of Janis's coworkers die in a day and all she's worried about is racial profiling? Please!
Tony turns bad with no explanation whatsoever and we're just supposed to believe this?
Where's Sean? Why don't they talk to him?
Why did Kim leave? Why didn't she stay? Poor, poor reasons.

It's really schizo. Renee and Jonas are good characters, Jack is invincible apparently, Aaron and the president are good but the daughter is annoying, and FBI is more whiny than Season 6 CTU! What happened to likable characters like Michelle, Edgar, Chloe, Curtis, and Teri? They've all been killed and we get poor, poor replacements. Chloe is written out of the season with no explanation and Morris is added in as merely an extended cameo. Tony was a poor choice as a villain.

To save 24, personally, I'd go with a more Bondish approach. It's already a parody of itself, so make it more Goldfinger-esque. Thunderball took the course of 48 hours, right? Trim it a little and you've got 24!

Post Re: 24 (SPOILERS WELCOME)
This week's episode wasn't as good as last week's which, with apologies to ilovemovies, I felt was one of the stronger episodes this season. I did feel that it sets up the last three episodes nicely.

- Good point about why they haven't talked to Sean yet, but I don't get the feeling that he knew any more than he has already told them. He was very low-level on this whole thing, and the part that he had to play (dealing with the bioweapon and General Juma) has run its course.

- This episode was lacking a certain Will Patton-esque quality to it. Hope he comes back soon to replace Hodges as the villain.

- I still think that Tony may be playing both sides in this. I don't entirely believe that he's all-bad, and that he may try to sabotage the attack in some way. Can't wait to see how he gets caught by Jack.

- The strong writing continues. The scene between Jack and the Muslim cleric in the car was fantastic, as was the conversation between Jack and Chloe. And yes, I hope to see more of Morris at some point in the last three episodes, although he's on his way out of town (hopefully) so that probably won't happen.

- I can't say that I feel sorry for Olivia. Mainly because I don't. She got herself into this mess, now she has to deal with the consequences. I too think that either the contact or Martin (or perhaps both) are trying to blackmail her. They'll say that she needs to give them the money or else they'll leak her involvement. That's why they killed Hodges even though they hadn't been paid yet.

Let me ask you this, if your brother was murdered and the murderer was getting away with it scott free, how would you feel?

I'd think you'd be pretty pissed about it.

- Sean was a part of Jonas's group. Not this new one. Thus no need to to talk to him.

- Janis is an annoying character, I'll give you that.

- Kim left she's going back to LA to be with her family since Jack is busy, only has a day left to live, Jack doesn't want her going through the stem cell thing.

- We do learn what is Tony's motivation soon. You just have to be patient. We probably won't know the whole story until hour 24.

- I didn't find the episode to be too preachy or political at all.

- Jack is dying. Hardly invincible. He won't die though of course. He'll eventually come around and have Kim do the stem cell thing.

- One last thing: Edgar sucked IMO!

Your opinion's wrong, Edgar was like a big teddy bear that could out-analyze Chloe!

Meh. I felt bad for him when his mother was stuck in her house with nuclear powerplant near had it's meltdown. But other than that his character never did anything for me. And I didn't miss him after he died.

The whole Olivia Taylor ordeal just got a little more interesting; she's in a deep pile of shit now. And I hate that Jonas Hodges is gone, but it was probably time. I don't think Will Patton can hold a candle to Jon Voight in the villain department.

I have one thing to say about the ending to this episode...not again. And is Kim going to escape but get caught in a bear-trap/cougar sandwich again.

But one the whole, decent episode.

Great episode tonight, it had it all. Lots of Suspense, Jack tortures a bad guy, Chole and Janis work their computer magic while being snarky with each other, Jack and Renee actually catch Tony, Jack gets to beat the s*** out of Tony, Jibrahin lives and gets to be a hero, Jack and Renee smile at each other and HUG!! But its not over cause now their threatening Jack with killing Kim if he doesn't give them Tony back!!

Ugh, I hate the fact their threatening to hurt Kim if he doesn't cooperate, but I knew it was coming. I knew they would use her as leverage eventually.

The Season Finale is going to be awesome. The preview was great, looks like Renee either gets a message from Jack, or figures out that Jack was forced to help Tony escape and its because of Kim, cause she somehow gets ahold of Kim and warns her she's in danger, and then it looks like all hell breaks loose at the airport. I hope Renee is able to save Kim, cause Jack can't...he's tied down and some sinster scientist types are sticking a big freaking needle in his neck while Tony watches.

My guess? Their backup plan is to take a sample of the virus that's in Jack so they can re-create the bio-weapon again and start over.

and Jack asking Tony to let him die in peace.....sad.

The Season is almost over, which sucks in my book because this season has been excellent overall with just a few misteps and I hate having to wait 9 months to see Jack back in action again.

Good setup for the season finale, which looks fantastic. Renee holding onto a moving car while firing a gun? Awesome!

- I loved how Aaron read Olivia the riot act not once, but twice. I sure hope he survives the season finale to appear next season.

- I also liked the interactions between Chloe and Janis, and that Janis redeemed herself for some of her past behavior with regard to Chloe.

- Great on-your-feet thinking by Jibraan to get the canister to Jack. It is refreshing for this series to show Arabs in a positive light.

Can't wait for next week!
