Post Re: 24 (SPOILERS WELCOME)
OMG, Holy Freaking Sh*t.

I was afraid it might happen, but when it did...I was stunned.

Tony with the freaking heel turn!!! DAMMIT!! And he killed Larry to boot! WTF!?!?!
OMG I can't believe he just stabbed Jack and everyone else in the back like that, what the hell does he want with the bio-weapon?!

He stopped the missles, just like I hoped he would, and then he just....I can't believe it. That was one nasty f'n twist.

The only reason I can think of is, he went to Bill and Chole because he didn't want to have innocent people die. But, he still
has a grudge against the goverment, so he must have decided to get his hands on some of the bio-weapon for some kind of
revenge. Right now, that makes the most sense to me for what he did tonight.

RIP Larry Moss, I liked you and I wished you had survived the season.

- The President sure has warmed up to Jack, she knew the right phrase to say to let Jack know he and Renee had the green light to take out the missles. Loved that.

- I'm glad Renee found Kim, and I loved the twist that she has been in DC all day trying to get ahold of her dad. The scene were Jack went off on Renee was great, Renee handeled that very well.

- The reunion between Jack and Kim was great, I got a bit misty eyed at the end, esp when Jack broke down after she left. Kim has grown up alot since we last saw her and I like it. She's ready to help save her dad, regardless of the risks involved. I can't wait to see them interact more the rest of the season. He may have told her he doesnt want her to take the risk, but it's going to happen. Jack will change his mind.

- Man I loved how the tables have been turned on Hodges, can't wait to see how he worms his way out of this, and his warning to the President that its not over have been proven true, of course.

Next Week: Tony shoots himself to cover his betrayal, no suprise there. But, Jack says he doesn't think Larry was taken out by one guy. Wonder how long before he and Renee figure out Tony's playing them. As for Renee, she's not going to take Larry's death well, man her "Don't tell me how to feel" to Jack is COLD. And then to top it off, Tony tells his henchmen to blow up a building that Renee and other FBI Agents are in, causing Jack to freak thinking his new love interest is dead.

God I can't wait for next week now.

I TOLD everyone Kim was coming back!
But I didn't know how mature she has become and... dare we say... intelligent?

I'm ignoring the Tony situation. No reason to comment on it now since I found it slightly farfetched but needless speculating will just go nowhere. We can see little motive for him right now so they have to do it after the fact, I guess.

That suprised me also, how grown up Kim was tonight. I really liked it. Now im really glad she's back.
Can't wait till they start the treatment so they can save Jack. He said no tonight, but with the Tony
turn I think things are going to change for him.

Agree on the Tony thing, I've been all over the net tonight esp on the 24 boards at fox.com and the reaction
is mixed with happiness, confusion and anger. I'm shocked by it, but im waitint to see why he did this before
I completly write Tony off.

Yeah I'm reserving judgment on this. But I think it was a great twist that the writers don't need to justify too much. I also remember that in the first quarter of the season, there was an FBI raid in which only Tony confirmed the CIP device was destroyed. He could have pocketed that. As far as the bioweapon, he saw a chance to sell something that could easily be mass produced, and he took out the rest of the stock. Smart move on his part.

When Hodges said "cog in the wheel," I think he meant that there were far worse than him who were in it for the money or for revenge (like Tony). Hodges, while unreasonable, at least had terms, and in his own mind was doing it as a patriot.

Excellent scene with Jack and Kim. While some of you might despise her, I think she really grounds Jack. All the best seasons have had Kim in some capacity.

I was and still am BLOWN AWAY by last night's ending. I mean, Tony is bad? And he killed Larry?!?!

My mom's reaction was hilarious because she was FURIOUS! She even threatened to stop watching it and said she doesn't like the show anymore. It was a knee jerk reaction and she didn't really mean it but she was still furious.

Great episode as a whole. Exciting begining. A very touching scene between Jack and Kim. A great scene between President Taylor and Jonas. Only thing that keeps me from giving it a perfect grade/rating is that it's a little on the slow side in the middle part but I understand that was done on purpose. Sort of like the calm before the storm that was that ending! :o

- WHAAAAAAAAA??? Totally didn't see that twist coming! I think that Justin T is right about Tony's motivations. He's still upset with the government, but didn't want innocent civilians to die. I too think that, because it's not over yet, that Jack will let Kim help him.

- As noted, the scene between Jack and Kim was very very good. But also, the conversation between Jack and Renee that took place just before this scene was amazing. There's been a lot of really good writing this season to go along with the good action scenes that have become a trademark of the show.

- I loved how Hodges got his comeuppance. That arrogant bastard deserves everything that he gets! I really wanted President Taylor to walk up and slap him, but the look on his face was satisfaction enough.

- I was just starting to like Larry. It was nice to see his character change from one who sees the world only in black and white to seeing shades of gray.

Jonas Hodges was an idiot for even coming to the White House. God, how stupid can a character get?

As for the comment that they killed Larry just when he was starting to like him, they do that all the time on the show. They did with George Mason, Ryan Chappelle, Senator Mayer, ect. Now add Larry to the list of unlikeable characters who become likeable and get killed.

Hodges has a contingency plan... he's too intelligent to just go to the White House hoping to work out a deal with the President. I know we haven't seen the last of him.

As for Tony... I don't like it. He has built up such goodwill, and now he's a cold-hearted murderer. Michelle would hate what he has become now! I'm sure the President would've given him immunity from everything he has done in the past to what he has done to this day. To my knowledge, they only have one bio-weapon, and they're probably going to target the government in some shape. It'll be interesting to see where this goes.

I agree with you that Hodges is very intelligent. But he's also very arrogant. I think he honestly believed that he could get the President to cave in to his demands.

If he actually believed that, then IMO Hodges wasn't very intelligent afterall.

He probably thought that he could get the President to cave in. But he got to the White House in the first place by threatening to shoot off those missiles. He's gotta know that the President is not going to willingly accept all his demands, especially after his attempt at blackmailing her. While he is definitely arrogant, I'd be highly suprised if Hodges doesn't find a way to get out of the predicament he is now in. I'm sure there's a plan.

Post Re: 24 (SPOILERS WELCOME)
For me the first three seasons of 24, and the game (if you're a fan of the show you have to play the game...the level of thought in it extends to Aaron Pierce and Mandy having cameos, and just wait until you see who is behind it all) wrapped up everything nicely.

We have this show that was tense, dramatic, and was not afraid to take risks. The worst part was Teri's amneisa angle, but given what ttook place before that can be forgiven. The ending of the first season was truely shocking, and when we get a bit into the second season and the big bad from season one returns, well things gear up greatly for about seven episodes. The third season ebbs and flows nicely, and the ending was a nice way to caap off everything.

If the show ended there, I would have been happy. However we had a fourth season, which early on has Jack needing to delay a suspect. His solution? Hold up the gas station he's at. Jack Jack Jack, what are you thinking? Then we had the good guys tortuing innocent people for hours, and I had to stop watching there. I did watch Redemption and actually enjoyed it. I liked the story of Jack going into exile and the government being after him, how children are being recruited as soldiers, and how they had the mass exodus with everyone trying to leave the country. I started watching the seventh season, but after missing an episode I just never got back into it.

My fave moments (spoilers of course)

Teri being raped: okay, that wasn't a fave, but the scene was powerful when you consider the context it was used in)

Nina behind the attack on CTU: From the time Jack sees her photo the show becomes obsessive viewing for about seven episodes. Highlights include Jack interrogating her, drugging his partner so he could be alone with her, and the part where she is forced to go in alone to meet a suspect. "We'll make sure he doesn't turn the gun on himself."

Jack flying the bomb into the Nevada desert: This entire episode was wonderful. It begins with discovering the nuke cannot be disarmed, and planning on the best place to set it off. Jack volunteers himself to do so. He says goodbye to his daughter and just as they are flying over the Nevada desert Jack discovers George Mason, dying from radiation poisoning, on board. He snuck on because he knows what Jack's going through...losing his wife, his daughter, he's suicidal. George talks Jack into letting him fly the plane in and out of killing himself.

24: The Game's President Palmer speech and aftermath: At the end of season 2 Mandy attempts to assassinate the President by poisoning him. Part way through the game we see hin giving aa televised speech stating that he is on the mend and will be stronger than ever when he is meedically cleared to resume office. Once off the air we see that he is wheelchair bound. The ttaalk with him and his doctor is wonderful, and in this scene we see Aaron Pierce in the background, showing the level of detail in the game.

A similar scene occurs later in the game when Palmer is watching nnews of an attack on LA. His doctor comees in and says how the stress is hampering his medication.

Peter Madsen's phone call at CTU: After the attack on CTU Peter Madsen calls his boss. His boss? Nina Myers. The CTU mole, in both sense of the word. The woman who killed Teri Bauer. Who was behind the attack on CTU in season two. She tells them to kidnap Kim, and when we look at the computer she's working on we see that she's looking up Michael Amador, the main bad guy in the third season.

Nina's death: It was a long time coming, and while I would have liked for them to have Kim kill her as was planned this was worth seeing.

Jack's introduction in Redemption: This was a nice scene showing that as bad as Jack is he really is a nice sensitive guy. The fact that he growls at the slimy lawyer after him immediately after this makes it better.

The ending to Redemption: Jack is basically forced to give himself up to the American government in order to save the kids. The ending scenes, with the blockade overrrun by those desperately trying to leave the country, and Jack now being in custody, was deserving of the silent clock.

Hmmm...Jack wasn't feeling that bad in the field. Could it be that it could be like Crank but instead of adrenaline or electricity, being on the field lessens the symptoms of Jack's illness?

Tsk, tsk. Because of Jack's symptons Tony was able to escape.

Very cool that Will Patton is on the show now. Always thought he was a very underrated actor.

I don't know If I can take much more of this. The awesomeness of this
season is really surprising me, week after week I'm on the edge of my
seat on the couch...wondering what's going to happen next.

- First, kudos to Annie Wersching's perfomance tonight, as Renee did her best to show she was handling Larry's death but barely held it together. Her reaction when she got the news, awesome...esp the the single tear down her cheek as she took charge and issued orders.

- It may look like Kim has given up, but either she's going to change her mind and go back, or Jack is going to ask her to stay and help do the treatment. I had a little aww moment when they revealed she has a daughter now, named after her mom Teri *sniff* I can't wait till Jack finds out he has a grandaughter. The boyfriend/husband seems like a nice guy.

- I like that Jack was upset that Larry was dead too, and that he could tell Renee was bottling stuff up...just like he does, so he had to go along to make sure she was ok and to help her catch Galvez. It was cool that Jack tried to comfort her but she blew him off, I'll let that one pass since she was upset.

Interesting how the roles have been reversed, when Marika died after they caught Dubaku Renee was all emotional and upset while Jack was all shut down, now when Larry dies she does her best to shut things off while Jack tries to tell her its ok to feel. It's stuff like this that I love the Jack/Renee relationship.

- It's cool when Jack interrogates suspects or blows away the bad guys with all those bad ass weapons, but I really love it when they show just how smart Jack is. The fact Jack went with Renee to help in the search nearly ruined Tony's plans. First, he looks at the evidence and realises Larry wasn't killed by one guy. Then, he gets suspicous when Galvez pretendes to be a FBI Agent to lure them into the trap and figures that out just before he blows the building up, which prob saved alot of lives since Jack warned Renee in time to have her order them to get out.

- The ending kicked ass, Jack figures out Tony lied to him about how he found out about Juma's attack on the White House, and that he probably killed Larry as well and confronts him at gunpoint, hoping to get him to admit the truth.

"Tony we've been doing this long enough to know that there is no such
thing as a meaningless lie!"

Line of the Night IMO

Too bad that was his one mistake, as he has a seizure....and Tony reveals he stole his meds! Rat Fink Mother F*cker! The man that was once Jack's good friend looks to be mostly dead. First he has no problem leading Renee and a squad of FBI Agents to their deaths...but then he just stands there and lets Jack suffer through a seizure while telling him off. "I told you to stay out of this Jack, but you couldn't listen could you?"

If Jack has to kill Tony or throw him in jail personally at the end of the season, I say hell yes.

Great episode, next week needs to come quickly.

Next Week: Renee finds Jack in the Ambulance, he must tell her Tony betrayed them cause she gets on the horn and tells her men to catch Tony. Too bad it's too late...hmm, so Tony is working with these new people, and he and the chick who visted Hodges are an item?! Bad ass. Tony "We just need one more attack to push them to the brink." Sooo not good. But the best part.....Jack goes to the hospital to interrogate Hodges!!! Oh that is sooo going to rule.

7 days and counting....

Oh I agree, another great episode tonight.

- Man, I felt for Jack tonight. The look of anguish on his face when he told Renee that Tony had betrayed them...blaming himself. Jack's really going through the ringer before this season is over with. I'm glad Renee didn't blame Jack for Tony killing Larry and everything else, she feels for Jack and wants to stop Tony as much as Jack does. They are working together to stop him and I love that.

- As if we needed more evidence that Tony's gone to the Dark Side, he kills 2 FBI Agents without blinking, and has no problems about initating an attack with the bio-weapon canister and framing some innocent people for it. They better give him some damn good reasons he's become like this.

- I had a feeling Galvez would try and double cross Tony, and it ended like I thought, with him dead. So, Tony and Cara are a item, thats interesting.

- This conspiracy is messed up, using terror attacks to they can take control of the country. These people are as wacked as Hodges.

- Speaking of him, the scene were Jack interrogated Hodges was awesome. Great acting from Kiefer and Jon Voight. Jack and Renee did a nice tag team, with him calling her and pretending he was calling the Media to rat him out. That was some nice work.

- I love how CTU is being revived, and Im glad Chloe is finally back in action. I felt bad for her, having to find out Bill was dead AND Tony betrayed them. Double whammy. I loved Morris line "Oh, your talking to me again." when she woke him up to tell him she's going back to help, thats why I like the guy.

- Damn you Olivia, your going to cause trouble again aren't you? She's going to arrange for someone to kill Hodges before they put him in Witness Protection, I think.

- Damn, Jack is getting worse. He flew off the handle on Janis and confused Taylor with David Palmer.....not good. I can't wait for when Jack get's better. Watching him go through this is tough.

- I feel for these patsies Tony and Cara have choosen to frame the next attack on. Wonder what the odds of them getting out of this alive?

7 days and counting, can't wait for the next episode.

Post Re: 24 (SPOILERS WELCOME)
Very good episode. Sets up the last four episodes of the season really well.

- I think Tony may be playing both sides. Like he found out about their plans to launch terrorist attacks in six months, and decided to play along and stop them. I don't know though. Just a theory.

- I can't stand Olivia. Time after time, it's proven that she's only in this for herself, not for the good of the country. And she's going to screw things up and possibly get a lot of people killed.

- Fantastic having Chloe back in action. When Jack said that he knew someone who could get the CTU servers up, I knew she was coming back. Very nice scene between her and her family in the hotel. Just a thought: Miles and their son are going to try and leave town...during early rush hour traffic, which is when the terrorists are supposed to strike. Could be very bad.

- Great acting by Kiefer Sutherland when Jack was yelling at Janis. Time is running out to save Jack. The pathogen seems to be progressing fairly quickly.

Post Re: 24 (SPOILERS WELCOME)
I think justifying Tony can only end in a few scenarios (spoilers from previous episodes):
- The writers don't justify it at all and just run with it.
- Tony has one or two lines about Michelle, the corrupt government, and orchestrating a reality check.
- Tony is actually morally gray so that the ends justify the means. He isn't totally bad but he isn't held back by trying to be a good guy either. Could end with Jack realizing they're quite the same. But we know the writers are hardly ever capable of moral gray. The only time they came close to this was Sherry Palmer in Season 2, which was helped immensely by her performance and her real motivations (grudge against David).
- Tony is still a good guy but has no problem crossing the line. Though highly unlikely, his actions up to this point can still be covered by this, especially his insistence on using the last bit of bioweapon right away (though if they didn't use it, the season would've ended).
- Tony redeems himself at the last moment. I hope this doesn't happen but seems the most likely scenario. It would be better if Tony slipped away and became the next Nina.

When Jack mentioned President Palmer, I thought he was actually referring to Palmer being responsible for helping CTU in the past. Only when Chloe brought up the mistake did I realize Jack had actually slipped.

We need more Will Patton.

We need more Will Patton indeed! He is one of my favorite character actors, also he did an excellent job in Dog Days of Summer, an independent film I saw last spring where he played a different-sorta character.

I was also happy to see Rafi Gavron make an appearance, remember his good acting in Rome the HBO series.
