Yes, the season can't come soon enough. Fortunately, I'll get to watch my team play a little earlier this year when the Dbacks and Dodgers meet up in Australia.

I run a fantasy baseball league every year on Yahoo. When it opens for business in a few days, I cordially invite everyone here to join in. No money, just bragging rights.

Fuck yes, I've been meaning to participate in one for the past few years now but never got around around to doing it.

I'm in too if the offer still stands. I've only tried this once, a few years back. It was a disaster, but I'm more knowledgeable about the game now than I was before.

In news nobody probably cares about but me, the Dbacks just signed GM Kevin Towers and manager Kirk Gibson to contract extensions, despite the fact the team has finished 81-81 the last two seasons. I'm baffled by this; instead of lighting a fire under them, the organization is just asking for complacency.

The team also unsurprisingly lost out in the Tanaka sweepstakes. Supposedly they've been eyeing Bronson Arroyo, which is a signing I would like. He's durable and consistent and the team wouldn't have to give up their draft pick for him.

It's open now, guys. Go to http://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com and join league #1291 called Legendary League Part II. It's set up so that you have to "apply," meaning that it sends me an email and I send the official invite. Have at it!

Also, I haven't set an official draft time yet, but I will within the coming weeks. Probably sometime in March.

Go to Commissioner Tools, go to "Edit Custom League URL" and then you can just give us the link to apply

http://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/league/legendaryleague2

Yahoo changed a couple of things in the layout and now I can't even figure out how to create a password for the league, which would be way easier.

Okay, no one else joined yet so I'll delete it and create a new one. Damn it Yahoo, stop "fixing" what isn't broken (same goes double for you, Facebook).

Here is the official link to join my fantasy baseball league. I am 100% sure this will work. Everyone in the thread is invited.

About damn time my O's did something in the offseason. Ubaldo Jimenez may never rediscover the form he had with the Rockies, but as is, he's a solid #3 starter.

Yeah I like this signing for the Orioles. Sure they have to forfeit a pick, but they've been terrible at drafting pitchers lately anyway, so no big loss

And Nelson Cruz on the cheap! One year, $8M. I like it. Too bad the AL East is so loaded.

Love this deal for the O's, but I think it's going to take a lot of luck to see the Orioles in October. As you said, the division is *so* loaded. The Athletics and Rangers get to play the Astros 18 times (they were 15-4 and 17-2 against them last year, respectively), and you guys have to play the Yankees/Red Sox/Rays. Even if the Blue Jays aren't good, they're no Astros.

I'm starting to hate divisions in general. Far too often it just gets so wacky and unbalanced. If I were commish, I'd take the radical step of un-alignment. Keep the NL and AL as is but have no divisions and everyone play each opponent the same number of times. You can keep the wildcard playoff teams and the one-game playoff, but let your record determine your fate. And if it creates too many East Coast teams in the playoffs? Too bad. Build a better roster if you miss out.

The bigger culprit with this phenomenon is the NFL, though. You can have 8-8 teams make the playoffs and 10-6 teams miss. Not cool.

The reason I don't like your idea, and I do like divisions, is because it makes things far more exciting for fans. If you said that the Top 5 teams from each league, regardless of division, make the playoffs, then there's only the race for slot 5. The current alignment ensures that there's a race for each division, in addition to the wildcards.
