The synopsis for I Heart Huckabees seems very interesting. It's a shame the feedback on it is so poor.

Fit for remake?

I enjoyed it a lot, but it has a very specific sense of humor and is very offbeat in its approach, so I can't say I'm at all surprised that it's a love-it-or-hate-it kind of film, and that many viewers are on the "hate it" side. Certainly if you don't find it funny, then you're not going to be impressed. The one thing I think is pretty undeniable, even if you don't like it, is that the acting is all-around great (arguably Mark Wahlberg's best performance, and Watts is hilarious in her post-breakdown state, just to name a couple players), a common feature in Russell's work. If you appreciate acting it certainly won't be a waste of time.

Remake? Doubt it. It's arguably too personal and specific for another person to try it. But you never know.
I didn't think the acting was very good, Hoffman's performance in particular was awful, though considering how badly the characters were written and what a terror Russell was to the cast, I can't really blame the poor performances entirely on them.

I guess Russell must have reformed because the same actors keep coming back to work with him.

Partly, but he seemed to have a falling out with Wahlberg, since the latter was promised the lead role for Silver Linings Playbook, but then Russell went with Cooper.

Points to Russell. Cooper was a better choice in this case.

Good lord. Can you imaging Silver Linings Playbook with Marky Mark?

It was supposed to be Marky Mark and Anne Hathaway. I really like Cooper/Lawrence chemistry, but that original pairing would have been something to see  .

Wahlberg/Hathaway would have been interesting. I just couldn't see Wahlberg/Lawrence.

It seems to me Russell made "The Fighter" largely to get back into people's good graces.
