Post It's Steven Seagal week on AMC!!!
Anybody else love slamming back cold beers pre bar and watching Mason Storm or Casey Riback mall bad guys?

Above the Law
Hard to Kill
Marked for Death
Under Siege

were all tits...then he had to go environmental on us and make dog shit. I'm not saying he actually made any good movies, but his first stuff had a certain flair to them...then they just became awful without redeeming qualities.

Pfft. I bet they don't even show the greatest of all Steven Seagal films.

I disagree, I think he still made some pretty good films, I didn't mind his environmental stuff but I can understand why others were turned off by it. Some of his later films that I really dug are Under Siege 2, Exit Wounds and Mercenary For Justice.

I admit to a certain guilty pleasure enjoyment of Out For Justice and Marked For Death. Yeah they're completely lacking in anything resembling logic and Seagal's acting ability is pretty much non-existent. But here's the thing. Most people realize that. In those days I don't think anyone went to a Seagal movie to absorb a profound message or find a philosophy to live life by. No, the primary reason for watching a Seagal movie is for the pleasure of spending a couple hours watching the bad guys get their asses kicked.

Under Siege was legitmately good mainly on account of Jones and Busey. Definitely the one Seagal movie that's a cut above. Of his environmental pics I harbor a certain enjoyment of Fire Down Below. Exit Wounds I wasn't a fan of and I more or less stopped following him once his movies started going directly to DVD.

Oh, come on. On Deadly Ground is one of the best bad movies ever. It's absolutely friggin' hilarious.

I'll just leave my top 10 Steven Seagal movies here. Though Under Siege and Belly of the Beast would make the list if I was to revise it.

In the Glimmerman. Seagal has the best line ever.
I am paraphrasing here but it goes a little like
" I have the perfect ointment for that mark on the side of your face"
" what mark"
Seagal just hits the man and knocks him out.

Seagal is actually surprisingly pretty funny at times in Exit Wounds. And not unintentionally funny either. He's suppose to be funny.

Of course the best Seagal films are both Under Siege movies and I enjoyed the one where he wakes up from a coma, don't remember what it's called.

His best movie isn't really a Seagal flick because he isn't in it much but that would Executive Decision.

That's true of me as well. Not just for Seagal but Van Damme as well. With the one exception being Replicant. That was actually surprisingly good.

I've mostly enjoyed their direct to video films, Pistol Whipped is by far one of Seagal's best, the DTV Universal Soldier sequels were also quite good.

Hard To Kill is the one where he wakes up from a coma, and I actually saw that film on AMC a few years ago.

I found Executive Decision rather bland, it was way too long at over 2 hours and it didn't really have much in the way of excitement.

i don't think that Exccutive Decision is really a Steven Seagall film. He is more of a supporting actor in this film.
He was also in Machette, but again onlky really a bit part.
