I'm not sure what JB will be reviewing next week, so I'll check with him before posting the thread for Episode #28.

Fruitvale Station: 3.5 (this looks like it might be quite good - I'm just going to go along with the consensus here, but on the face of it looks more like a 3.0 to me)
Only God Forgives: 2.0 (this has critics and viewers alike extremely divided. All the information you need is out there with hundreds of reviews... but what will JB think of it?)
The Wolverine: 2.5 (looks like yet another lacklustre summer blockbuster to me).
The To Do List: 2.0 (debut film by Maggie Carey who has only worked in TV till now. Raunchy teen comedy of American Pie variety, but from a female perspective. R-rated so it might at least push some boundaries).

UPDATE: I've now seen Only God Forgives myself, and lowered my prediction by 0.5 points.

Fruitvale Station: ***1/2 (although for yours truly, it's worth **** and might be the year's best when all is said and done)
Only God Forgives: **
The Wolverine: ***
The To-Do List: **1/2

I hope I'm wrong about The To Do List. I heart Aubrey Plaza and the movie looks funny to me.

Looks like Only God Forgives has dissapeared from the upcoming reviews list. Shame, I was looking forward to hearing what JB thought of it.

Didn't you only become interested in the movie after critics started bashing it at Cannes?

Way to rain on my parade.

I was interested in it beforehand, but the critical bashing did raise my interest slightly.
