Actually didn't quite make it that far, considering that I haven't started the movie I was planning to watch tonight, so it'll be the 1st by the time I finish it.

MAY

The Grey
Superman vs. The Elite
Room 237
Iron Man 3
Tiny Furniture
The Natural
Two Lovers
Star Trek Into Darkness
Star Trek III: The Search For Spock
Road House
Sisters
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Aside from Star Trek III, 'twas a pretty good quality haul.

How were Tiny Furniture and Two Lovers? I'm curious about the former due to Lena Dunham and the latter due to the fact that it's gotten some great reviews over the years

I can't believe this even cracked 5 out of 10! What a unbelievably terrible movie this is. The screenplay is soooooo bad. And Robert Blake seems to be getting paid by how much scenery he can chew

I should have something posted on it in the Last Movie thread sometime in the next couple days, along with the other five final first-time viewings from last month. It was kind of a tough film to wrap my head around, hence the somewhat tentative rating.

14 first-time viewings was the same as last month, although there were quite a few re-watches of some of my favorites. I have a decent excuse for my only-moderate nuttage though, as I finally landed myself a low-paying internship.

That's about it. I've been working some sick hours, days, nights, and most weekends. Whenever I had time to watch something, I was usually catching up with TV shows or watching NBA playoffs, so not a lot of time for films.

Post Re: Viewing Journal -- 2013
5/2 With Byrd at the South Pole (7 of 10 as a film, 9 of 10 as a historical document)
5/3 I Was Born, But … (4.5 of 10)
5/8 Cloak & Dagger (1946) (7.5 of 10)
5/12 When a Woman Ascends the Stairs (8.5 of 10)
5/13 Les Enfants Terribles (5 of 10)
5/14 Out of the Past (7.5 of 10)
5/16 Iron Man 3 (6.5 of 10)
5/17 Shakespeare Wallah (No rating; I gave up after less than half an hour.)
5/24 Man of Aran (9 of 10)
5/25 Star Trek into Darkness (8 of 10)
5/28 Wife vs. Secretary (6.5 of 10)

I'm thinking I saw "The Place Beyond the Pines" this month, but I can't find a review. It's 7.5 of 10, which is a good rating for me. (The 5 for "Les Enfants Terribles" is negative and I'm tempted to rate it lower.)

Not a bad month for me, with the two documentaries, the Naruse and the new Star Trek being the highlights, and “Cloak & Dagger” and “Out of the Past” also very good. The BCC series "Ripper Street" is also excellent though not a movie. I give it 9 of 10.

I live about nine miles from Moore, Oklahoma. (F5 tornado, thousands homeless.) It's been a busy month.
