April was my lowest total in over two years. I should be good for at least 15 this month.

I very much appreciate your manly call to action and, hold on - zzziiip, yep, they're still there, zzzip - I can confirm that all is good and well with the testicles, but, regrettably, I can't susbcribe to your pledge of 15-movies-a-month. Actually, I'm rather proud (or relieved) that I have stopped the rot: In February and March I only saw 7 and 8 movies respectively. So 12 in April isn't all that bad for me.

That being said, there's no room for excuses when it comes to grabbing some hooters. Working regulations on sexual harassment be damned, well-endowed intern on the second floor, here I come ...

THAT'S MY BOY UNKE! TITTIES AND MOVIES = SHOWGIRLS, but also happiness.

Seriously though, see 15. That's one more a week than 12. Less even.

Or it equals SHAME, which is what's up next for me. Five movies thus far (two in theaters).

Yep, you are right Mr. Kunz. Good wake up call! Well April and the first half of May were rather kinda rough for me, I just caught a few flicks on tee-vee I hadn't seen including the 2009 "Star Trek" (better than I thought). I will catch up on watching movies (I haven't seen yet) ASAP. The list is growing......

And yep: last time I checked I still had a pair. 8-)

*speaks in a high-pitched castrati voice* Twelve! That's all I can muster. It took me a few re-watches and a one-movie-a-day late filmwatching binge, too. Go away with that rope, Monsieur LeChiffre, go away!

Man I wish I could have a month with four **** films. Lucky. Incidentally, did you see a movie about two people who view 12 am together, or did you mistype Midnight in Paris? :D

Still catching up on movies I haven't seen....

"Up In The Air". Hmmmm, not sure what to make of it. For my personal taste it has too many elements of a rom com. It is well made, yes, but hardly a sarcastic view of downsizing the staff and hiring a pro to fire employees. George Clooney is good in this, but I think he still is in "movie star" mode here. He only managed to abandon it and playing a kind of loser in "The Descendants" - which BTW (sue me) bored me to hell.

There is too much catering to the "American dream" (rom com style) in this for me to find it really good. And let's face it: the movie is way too lighweight for its supposed subject matter (which for me it is just a thin veneer to cover just another Hollywood mainstream output: be like everybody else, go to college, do as you are being told, be the best, get married, get a well paid job, get children, buy a house in the suburbs - otherwise you are screwed). The coolest thing about this movie for me was the moment with Sam Elliott playing Sam Elliott.

Nothing gets by you, sleuth. 8-)

IMHO there were at least five four-star movies in 2011. In addition to the ones I mentioned, there's also The Artist and David Fincher's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I still have a few left to see, but one thing's certain. I truly regret how my movie-going took a nosedive that year in favor of sports. Now I'm into both equally.

I must confess my movie watching performance has been poor for a few months. I feel like a charlatan mother-fucker ... I mean even more than usual. Because of my lack of the hard hours, the real movie watching shit, i feel that occasional bouts of insight (lacking), sarcasm and periodic winding up of man-god, JamesKunz were enough to keep me ticking. But they're fucking not! Nowhere near man!

And for this i apologise and promise to improve my shit. Amen

Since I'm the type of man who would never tell his fellow bros to grab some sack if he was not, in fact, willing to grab some sack of his own, I am proud to announce that I watched 18 movies in May.

Now comes June. A true test of my mettle if there ever was one. You see, in the eight Junes I've got on record since my Newly-Viewed Movies list came into being, there has never been a June where I didn't hit the magical, "elite month" total of 20 new movies. It's the only month that can make such a claim. And I'll be damned if I'm going to let that stop...but my trip to Europe starts on the 18th.

...in short, I'm going to need to grow an extra ball for the next 16 days.
