 Which Hurt -- John or William?I love both Hurts dearly. William rarely disappoints (though he has recently a bit) and knocked a tiny role in A History of Violence out of the park. Plus Kiss of the Spider Woman. But John Hurt is terrific in absolutely everything with the exception of Harry Potter 7 and Indiana Jones 4, where he's just boring. Other than those, he's amazing. Hell he's probably my favorite actor

Re: Which Hurt -- John or William? I kind of felt bad after I voted and saw how one-sided this is so far, because both of them are terrific actors. I think John's a better actor (obviously, or I wouldn't have voted that way, but I'm not sure that I think he's that much better than it should be such a runaway.

You can hardly blame him for those, which were basically nothing roles.  John has managed a much more sustainable film career; William has been hot-and-cold since his '80s heyday (though, admittedly, he was REALLY big in that decade).But, jeez, given the results so far, this poll might as well have been John Hurt vs. John Heard.  |

For John Hurt, I'll have to go with The Hit. For William Hurt, probably his early roles in Altered States and Body Heat.
