How would you rank it with the first two films?

It might just by my favorite film in the trilogy.

1. Before Midnight
2. Before Sunset
3. Before Sunrise

Might. Not sure yet. I'm kind of looking forward to Before Dawn in 2022.

Before Midnight is definitely on my early best-of-2013 list so far, along with The Place Beyond the Pines and a few other titles.

Ah, but aren't dawn and sunrise basically the same thing? Perhaps "Before Noon" would be a better choice. :|

Haven't seen the latest entry yet, but I prefer the 1995 original. There is a no-nonsense, no artzy-fartzy sincerity and sweet innocence to it, combined with very clever dialog, which the second installment can't match. I sincerely hope it doesn't go further downhill. Sure it is in the material: people get older, jaded.... yet I don't want to see a saga maturing in a depressing way. Let's hope the best. As soon as I am able to find a theater playing the third installment, I'll buy a ticket. I would do so even if Linklater had "filmed" it with his I-phone.

Just to join in the ridiculous (yet funny) title suggesting game: how about "Before Moonrise?"

And if there's no moon that night? Before New Moon? Or if they get really specific: Before 2:30 am on a Waxing Crescent Moon...

O.K. then let's take it to the moon then (since budget is very limited, the fake moonscape from the fake Apollo program can be re-used) and call it "Before Earthrise". Dialog would be more interesting too (not just jobs, love affairs and kids).

And now a trailer:

I haven't watched it yet. For anyone who already did (and if they've already seen it like Sean even better), how spoilerific does it seem?

It occurred to me the other day, while reading briefly through the reviews, how these three films sounded like and reminded me of the Toy Story trilogy, where most of the general consensus is that it keeps getting better and better: the first film introduces us to its world in an enchanting and relatively innocent way, the second film has darker themes and heartbreak settling in, and the third film is the full culmination and exploration of what've come before and have the most emotional impact.

man, my expectation keeps getting higher, I hope it doesn't disappoint me. I haven't been participating a film this much since...well... Toy Story 3. But before that was the first Harry Potter, and that when I was a kid.
