Actually Kill List was a hell of a film, definitely one of the more unsettling films I've seen in a long time

Uh.. Definitely The Hobbit is high in my list too, not because I am a big fan of Lord of the Rings but to check this 48fps 3D technology

I saw the trailer for that film when I saw Battleship, didn't look very good at all, I like Shia LaBouef but I can't buy him as an outlaw for a second, he looks way too clean-shaven to be able to convincingly play that type of character.

Re: Name your top five movies you already saw 2012 and 5 to see
The only 2012 movie I've seen so far is Cabin in the Woods, and it was shit.
I'm interested in Prometheus, Love, Spider-Man, Total Recall, and Dredd.
If the Bourne Legacy does a 180 on the incomprehensible shooting and cutting of its predecessor, I'll check it out. Same goes for 007.
Yes, I realize that nearly every title I've listed is some sort of retread. It looks like that kind of year.

As much as you admired Inglourious Basterds, I thought for sure Django Unchained would be high on your list. No love for spaghetti westerns?

Hm. I'd forgotten about Django Unchained. Yes, I'd consider that a part of my list to see.
And I also realize (or was reminded by my girlfriend) that I'd forgotten about seeing John Carter in March. It was overstuffed, but otherwise terrific fun.
The lesson here is that I cannot be counted on to remember anything.

Re: Name your top five movies you already saw 2012 and 5 to see
I think it's been a very solid year so far. There's been one legitimately great film already ( The Grey), an excellent, fun, and smart superhero movie ( The Avengers), and a slew of quality films in a bunch of different genres. That said, the rest of the year looks very promising. This is one of the more interesting summer lineups I can remember, and as you said, the fall looks like it could be pretty stellar. 2012 has the potential to go down as one of the better movie years in recent memory. I'm pretty excited.

I'm surprised to see The Grey get a bunch of mentions here, I saw it last night and loved it. I had heard many mixed reactions all over the net, as someone who didn't see the trailers I wasn't expecting a movie about Liam Neeson punching wolves like a lot of people were thanks to the marketing. What we got was something FAR more interesting and thoughtful, for that I'm thankful to Carnahan who finally showed some more of that promise from 10yrs ago when Narc came out.

Re: Name your top five movies you already saw 2012 and 5 to see
I finally saw The Avengers, which might be my favorite movie of the year. However, that comes with a caveat: it's on the same level (3.5/5) as 21 Jump Street and Haywire. You can't win 'em all, I suppose.
5. The Dark Knight Rises 4. Brave 3. Django Unchained 2. Amour 1. The Master
I still want to see Bernie and Headhunters, so technically those could be under my 5 to see. But whatever.
