Well, that will clearly be the highlight of the night.
And by "that", I mean Christopher Guest and company. Hell yes.

Re: Response thread - Berardinelli's live Oscar night commentary
Did anyone predict Girl With the Dragon Tattoo winning?

I feel like the only people who would have predicted it were those with a personal interest in GWTDT winning as much as it could. I mean fuck, they won last year.

Glad I switched my Sound picks to Hugo a couple days back.

I can tell you it won't be a good night for my Beat Berardinelli contest since I gave it once a over and found out I'm 0 for whatever.

Re: Response thread - Berardinelli's live Oscar night commentary
Yeah, that looks like it is going to be one of the biggest shocks of tonight. A huge surprise considering, as you said, they did win it last year. Hugo sweeping the technical awards is much less of a surprise obviously. My ballot is looking a lot better ATM.

Re: Response thread - Berardinelli's live Oscar night commentary
Agreed. I normally think the show is bloated enough already, but that was quick and very funny. Doubt I'll see anything better tonight. Nope. I think people underrate the Editing category too. That's a pretty major award right there. Again: Hugo is really cleaning up the technical categories. Anyone see an upset in a major category. Scorsese for Director??

I don't think Scorsese taking director constitutes a major upset because it could happen. Now Allen taking directing....

Shit, for some reason I changed my guess for Best Documentary. Should've stuck with my first impression...
I've only got 5 right...

I have missed three so far. I got documentary correct, I'm not sure if that's 6/9 or 7/10.

Has anyone seen Undefeated? The Weinstein Company distributed. I'm wondering if this is another win for lobbyists over quality?

Make that 8 of 11. Do we still think that tonight will be for The Artist?

Re: Response thread - Berardinelli's live Oscar night commentary
So, 9 out of 12.
Emma Stone on stage just made this the best Oscarcast ever. I would do unspeakable things to that girl.

Re: Response thread - Berardinelli's live Oscar night commentary
Chris Plummer was a lock to win. How about that score for Beginners though? They played a bit when he walked onto the stage. Simple, piano melody, but I really liked it. Made my Reelviews ballot.
