With regard to the latter statement, Anthony Hopkins did a brilliant job with a similarly repressed character.

I was heartened that even though the charactor is indeed a woman as played by Glen Close you still refered to Albert as "he" even though he is a she.
Looking at the trailer at the begining you would suspect that the charactor is a meak elderly gentleman as opposed to a woman. It should be a decent film.

I'm still on the fence about this. On the one hand, I feel writer/director Rodrigo Garcia has an uncanny ability to write roles for females (see "Nine Lives" and "Mother and Child"); on the other, this looks as though it could be somewhat broader than those films.
