The Cook, the Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover was amazing. **** movie. You all should go see it.

The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad was an awkward fusion of two stories which had nothing in common at all. I liked Mr. Toad but didn't care for Ichabod. **1/2

Class of 1999 was exactly as I remembered it. But teens teaming up against their evil cyborg teachers appeals to me less now than it did 10 years ago.

Head Over Heels was funny for 40 minutes, and then really stupid for the next 40. **

Charade was fun and breezy, but I wish a better director had added more urgency. ***. More thoughts tomorrow: I think I'll dig up the movieclub thread on it.

Please do. I'm interested to know whether you found it Hitchcock-y or not.

It still works as one of the better exploitation movies. But yeah, it doesn't have the same appeal to me now that it did as a teenager.

Its predecessor (1982's Class Of 1984) is also one of the better exploitation films. But in a way, it's easy to see how prescient it was about school violence. In 1982, the thought of metal detectors in high schools must have seemed like paranoia. Today it's the norm.
