Sunshine Cleaning (2009) - Tuesday March 17th
Knowing (2009) - March 18th
Tootsie (1982) - March 19th

So, on Tuesday we have the Sundance fave "Sunshine Cleaning". Amy Adams, Emily Blunt and Alan (Mr.Sunshine) Arkin in a comedy about two sisters who clean up violent crime scenes. On Wednesday Nicolas Cage is starring in a "gripping science fiction action thriller". We all know that his films are either awesome or awful..... this is a hard one! To round out this week we have an Oscar winning cross dresser comedy called "Tootsie" from the James 80's retrospective.

I could go for four on 'Tootsie', but 'Sophie's Choice' seems like the only movie from his 82' batch likely to get one. Otherwise, just throwing out guesses for the first two.

I'd be very surprised if he liked Sunshine Cleaning more than Little Miss Sunshine. Though one's more of a comedy than the movie, comparisons are bound to arise. I also reserve the right to change ratings for Knowing and Tootsie. Knowing has some association with Alex Proyas, so let's hope his strong suits stay with the movie. The implausibilities might make his head explode, though. >.< Tootsie's kind of a wild card.

EDIT:knocked half a star off knowing. its nic cage. have to be realistic.

The Nic Cage vehicle is the dark horse. What's it going to be? Proyas has made some interesting films but Nic Cage appears to do anything he's offered. What to do?

Tootsie - 3.5 stars

Sunshine Cleaning - 3.5 stars -> We have a hint with 'delightful'. But how many stars does that mean?

Knowing - 2.5 stars -> Alex Proyas, but the trailer and Nic Cage look awful. This could be anything from 1->3 stars.

Tootsie - 3 stars -> Decent film, slightly overrated imho.

I was really hoping Sunshine Cleaning would get passed over in favor of something else, since I know very little about it, but oh well. Knowing is the wild card here. It really could get anything. Let's see what happens.

Actually, "delightful" applies to Adventureland, not Sunshine Cleaning. I haven't provided any hints regarding how I feel about the latter.
