Forget it, Jake, it's the Movie Quote Game!

Post Forget it, Jake, it's the Movie Quote Game!
Since I couldn't find an existing Movie Quote Game thread, I decided to start a new one.

Rules are simple. Given a quote, guess the movie from which it comes. The winner gets to post the next quote or may forfeit his/her turn. If two players choose different movies and both movies include the quote, the winner will be decided by mortal combat with squeegees.

I'll start.

"Unfortunately, you killed my mother."

The one problem I can see with this game is the ludicrous ease with which one can google the quote.

Correct.

To make it harder for players to simply Google the quotes, feel free to omit certain key words. For example, "I don't think we're in ____ anymore."

Kansas?

Wizard of Oz.

Was that part of the game? It's probably one of the only ones I'll ever get.

Does anyone else find it hilarious that Kunz encouraged Dead Composer to create this thread and then immediately came in and shat on the idea once the thread went up? It's kind of a dick move, but it's so funny that I don't really care. JamesKunz, strict but fair.

I honestly didn't mean for it to come out like that. I discovered the game, didn't know the quote, and then googled it and found out in a second. Sorry :(

Well I think the trick is finding a quote which isn't part of "most quotable lines in movies" and not too obscure or common. Something between "I'm walking here!!!!" and ""Hi, please come in!".
About googling: yep: leaving out the key word would be the best (which can be confusing sometimes).

I figured you did something similar to this, which is why I found it so funny. I didn't think you were trying to be a dick, but I could easily see someone seeing it that way.

Maybe it might be best to introduce a rule that requires the honor system, like no googling quotes within the first 48 hours or something?

I already did. But I'm honorably not revealing it. Cause that's the kinda guy I am.

Traffic.

"My mom died on my 16th birthday. Her car veered off the road and exploded."

Good luck
