the movie occasionally echoes Pan's Labyrinth in terms not only of perspective but of content.

This line alone might be enough to get me into the theaters.

I'm interested. But the it's R rating probably means they went for cheap violence instead of suspense. Is the movie built around suspense? You review kind of sounds like it does.

From James' review:

Quote:
Don't Be Afraid of the Dark needs no "boo!" moments; its harrowing approach makes the production one long exercise in building tension.

what do you think? -___-

hahaha don't worry. yesterday I was in a bad mood :P anyway, despite the somewhat mixed reviews, the film does sounds like something worth seeing in theatres, especially due to its sense of dread and atmosphere. anything Del Toro becomes involved in has the potential to be interesting... (although not necessarily flawless)

I'm seeing this tomorrow at the Munich Fantasy Film Fest. Looking forward to it, especially after James' review.

Oh it's alright. It's my own fault anyway.
