A quarter-million dollars of war gold is missing. A husband is found dead, thrown from a train, and every character is a suspect. Audrey Hepburn plays the not-so-grieving widow, and Cary Grant plays the would-be hero in this comedic who-dunnit. This movie is a collection of memorable scenes and clever lines with a few awkward moments as our leads work to figure things out. It’s a pleasure to see Cary Grant in moments of silliness, and Audrey Hepburn is radiant. Until the last moments, we don’t know whom to trust, and even when the credits roll, we’re still contemplating identities.
Awf Hand gives 3.5 out of 4 stars, losing 1/2 star for uneven pacing. AH wonders what Quentin Tarentino could do with this screenplay.
