Well, after my strike-out last round, I think I'll refrain from gambling this time out.

So what comes next in the Greek alphabet, Sigma perhaps? LOL!

Act Of Valor-**1/2 The fact that real Navy-SEALS are involved should enhance the verisimilitude to a degree but otherwise this looks like a serviceable action-adventure, no more, no less, and the fact that most of these guys aren't trained actors could make their performances seem wooden - also it looks like the studio is withholding the film from critic screenings which isn't a sign of confidence

Wanderlust-** I would have given this a higher rating because of Paul Rudd but as we learned with My Idiot Brother, he can't always save every film in which he appears - plus this one features Jenny Aniston who, by now, has to be pretty high on James shit list

Gone-** Looks like a listless, boring serial killer thriller the likes of which seem to come along almost every week and not even Mrs. Seyfried will likely save this one (plus it's PG-13 which means we're not getting another Chloe moment)

Cannibal Holocaust - 1/2* Based exclusively on this film's reputation for being one of the most vile, repugnant films ever made, I'm gonna predict this one to strike very, very low.

For a movie with such a hugely notorious reputation, I was surprised to see that it actually currently has a Fresh rating at rottentomatoes.com. It currently has a 64%. Shockingly decent considering it's rep.

I, too, will refrain from gambling this time out. I'm tempted to, but I won't.

ACT OF VALOR - 2.5 (Honestly, I have no idea how this could play out. The authenticity could give the rating a boost but having non-pro actors could hurt and the trailers give away nothing about the story which probably means there isn't much of one)

GONE - 3 (Risky I know but my gut tells me to go with this.)
GAMBLE: CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST Honestly, anything from 0-2.5 stars is possible. With that wide range to go on, I'll just go with 1 star. (.1 points.)

Also, does the number of points we have to gamble with come from the beginning of the week or the end of it? That is, what constitutes having a negative?

I haven't seen Cannibal Holocaust and dont know much about it other than animals were killed on screen for it (in real life) and the director was accused of murder until the cast showed up alive and well. Still, JB almost NEVER gives out zero stars, so I'm going to go with a 0.5

That's probably for the best, it looks like an incredibly generic dime-a-dozen kidnapping thriller that we've seen dozens of times before.

Perhaps he felt that he didn't want to got through the experience of reviewing 3 awful movies in one week (the others being Ghost Rider 2 and Cannibal Holocaust)
