BONUS - BEHIND THE MASK: THE RISE OF LESLIE VERNON



Welcome, gentlemen (and possible ladies?), to the new year. Things are going to be a little bit different this time around. In previous years, we've had to guess three films correctly to get a full point. This is no longer the case.

For each film you guess correctly, you will get one full point. Unless I change my mind, this will probably be consistent throughout 2011.

For weeks with two movies, zero correct will lose you a half point. For weeks with three movies, three correct will win an extra half point and zero correct will lose you a full point. So don't be wrong!

In general, you don't have to make a guess for every single film if you don't want to. If on a three film week you guess only two movies, rules for two film weeks will be applied. Therefore, if you're late or have no idea what to guess, it's not a big deal. Submitting a guess for only one film, regardless of the week, can be beneficial. If you get it wrong, no penalty will be applied. If you get it right, you're still good for one point.

Guesses may not be edited after the first review has been posted.

Regarding this week, I am not sure when PR0METHEU5's pick will be reviewed. The Passion of Joan of Arc wasn't reviewed until early February last year, but I'm willing to bet that won't be the case this year. In any case, I can't consider it a part of any contest other than as a bonus. A correct guess will win you a half point. An incorrect guess will not penalize you.

The Dilemma - ** (Ron Howard is a good director, but January releases don't tend to be strong and it looks very unoriginal and sitcom-ish unfortunately)

A hard week that is not helped by the new rules, but those rules should be fun in the long run.

The Green Hornet: ** (January release date + Seth Rogen + retrofitted 3d conversion = no chance of this being good)

Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon: ** (Didn't Man Bites Dog thoroughly cover this territory already?)

New rules sound fun; plus the end totals will be nice and high...makes it look more impressive
