Re: Best Movie From Each Decade?
It is a great question, and one that I (even after studying film and watching many many movies) don't feel qualified to answer. As a man in my twenties, I still haven't seen enough films from the 20's through the 70's to be able to accurately pick which one was the best.
Maybe I'm missing the point though - maybe I should think about which decades have many of my favorite films.
The 60's: La Dolce Vita, 8 1/2, Once Upon a Time in the West, The Graduate, Bonnie and Clyde, Contempt, Breathless, Jules and Jim, Ivan's Childhood
were fantastic for filmmaking.
I would be hard-pressed to find another decade that I enjoy the films of more than the 60's besides maybe the 90's or 2000's which benefit from the sheer quantity from which I have seen.
