You see...that's all I hear about Marley and Me. Bawl fest. I don't seek out movies that will make me cry. I don't want to cry.

Yeah same here, I watch movies to cheer up, not make me feel worse, i've heard alot of stories of people crying after watching Family Stone due to having just lost a relative to cancer and being fooled into thinking the film was a comedy due to the misleading marketing. Can't really recall any films that made me cry as a kid, in fact I don't cry very often at all, not even at relatives funerals.

Well it made me cry uncontrollably...I do still think it was a good movie, even if it was manipulative. But no I wouldn't watch it again.

I knew it was sad, but I had no idea it was going to be THAT emotional for me.

I saw the dog movie and thought, as everyone around me cried themselves into justification for a $10 Hallmark Signature Series, that never before had a screen hound taken on so great a symbolic weight as Marley. Thereby the grace of proxy goeth labrador. Maybe it wasn't for me.

In America and Bridge to Terabithia (specifically the final scene, but there are other moments).

Well I never really cried (sobbing, tears rolling and all) while watching a movie, but yes, sometimes I have to fight the tears real hard. Last time it really hit me was in "The Thin Red Line". The scene when the hill was finally taken and a few last gun shots at the enemy sounded, then we discover that the "fierce enemy" in fact consists almost entirely of about 17 year old Japanese kids, half-starving. Then there is one shot from within a trench where a Japanese boy holds his fatally wounded war buddy in his arms and cries uncontrollably. I found it heartbreaking.

I only found a brief glimpse of this scene at 3':46":

Grave of the Fireflies, watched just a short time ago, does it to me as powerfully every time.

Oh god *bawls* Yeah, that's one of 'em.

Call me sappy and silly, but Moulin Rouge always makes me cry at the end too.
