I'm not anticipating much this year, though I'll definitely go see Harry Potter 6 and the new Star Trek when they come out.

Am I the only one who saw the Soloist trailer and thought it looked like a huge piece of manipulative garbage?

So did 2008, why do you think it got kicked into 2009's schedule?

Star Trek
Watchmen
Harry Potter
Knowing (I'm still giving Alex Proyas credit for Dark City and the Crow. Also I actually liked I Robot well enough)
Sherlock Holmes (Although I'm scared shitless this is going to (1) suck and (2) completely get Holmes wrong)
Terminator Salvation (I loved Terminator 3, but I'm still a little worried about this one. Christian Bale doesn't always choose the best movies--Reign of Fire, anyone?--but I'm still excited and hopeful)
Public Enemies
And yes, Avatar

I can't believe I forgot about HP6
As for Knowing, I wanna see what kind of ridiculous hair Nicolas Cage will have

Thank you!

I'm looking forward to :

The Lovely Bones
Up
Star Trek

There are others that I'll see and the list will grow as the year moves on but these are the ones that popped into my head first.

Nope, you definitely aren't. It looks like a shameless push for an Oscar that it won't get.

At the top of my list of anticipated movies is Rain Fall, opening in April in Japan (international release dates are still being worked on). It's the movie version of one of my favorite books, about John Rain, a half American-half Japanese hitman whose specialty is making the murders look from natural causes.

The most famous name in the cast is Gary Oldman. The rest are probably famous too, but in Japan. The dialogue will be mostly in Japanese with English subtitles, and in English.

If it's half as good as the book, it probably won't suck

I am also anticipating this. I don't know what to make of Adam Sandler, though. Will the completely annoying, over-used Adam Sandler show up? Or will the hilarious, Billy Madison Adam Sandler show up? Hopefully the latter...

Terminator: Salvation

Star Trek (although I'm 50-50 on this one. The first trailer looked really promising, but I just saw the superbowl trailer and my hopes dropped hugely. I hope to be proven wrong though.)

Are the feature film versions of Tintin and Arrested Development finally being released this year? What about Spielberg's Lincoln biopic?

I'm looking forward to Up, The Princess & The Frog, Inglorious Basterds, Avatar, Jennifer's Body, Where the Wild Things Are, The Fantastic Mr Fox, 1906 and I guess because it's Martin Scorsese, Shutter Island will probably interest me once more information and advertising comes poring in.

Arrested Development isn't totally a go yet, so I'm guessing 2010 at the earliest.
Tintin is scheduled for 2011.

Oh yeah, I also wanted to add Sherlock Holmes. I am a huge RDJ fan, and Guy Ritchie has made two of my favorite movies (Snatch and Lock,Stock And Two Smoking Barrels). The rest of Ritchie's movies have been average at best, so I am hoping this can be a rebound for him. With that said, I thought RockNRolla would be a rebound- it wasn't. So I can't say I trust him too much right now.
