Post Quiz: Directors from A-Z
If anyone's interested here's a quiz I made on Sporcle (an incredibly awesome time-killing website for those unfamiliar with it):

http://www.sporcle.com/games/DarkPhalanx/directorsAZ

If anyone takes it, I'd like it if you posted your score in this thread. Enjoy :)

17/26

Not knowing how to spell Truffaunt or Rodriguez cost me those two

That's funny because when making the quiz I allowed for four different misspellings of "Truffaut" to still count, but I guess I missed your one

20/26

Like Patrick not knowing how to spell a couple of the director's names, in my case Zinnemann (Damn second n) and Ichikawa (I thought the k was a g) slipped me up. I hadn't even heard The Opium War or Paris - When It Sizzles though...

EDIT:
I took your other quiz Kunz. 21/33 on that one. Most of the ones I missed I hadn't heard of, but I'm still beating myself up for having not gotten Breaker Morant, Waltz with Bashir and Michael Collins. Well done sir, except for the inclusion of Pork Chop Hill. For Korea it's The Steel Helmet all the way.

16/26 not my best effort. I was killed by the end i got 5/6 wrong all except for Wilder. Pretty good quiz, the spelling is a killer though, couldn't get vorheoven, I think I spelled it wrong there too.

Actually "Zineman" is listed as an alternate spelling for people like me who aren't always good as such things so I'm surprised it didn't work. Added "vorheoven" and "Ichigawa" though for other wayward spellers.

I'd never heard of either of the films you mention either but, to be honest, the choices of directors with names beginning with "Q" or "X" were incredibly limited and at least several thousand people on IMDB have seen Paris - When it Sizzles.

I've never heard of The Steel Helmet but I'm looking to see more Fuller films. I take it it's worth seeing?

I didn't actually take the quiz, but the only 3 I don't know offhand are "The Burmese Harp," "Paris When It Sizzles," and "The Opium War."

19/26

I missed:

The Burmese Harp
Network. I kept trying different spelling for Peter Weir, only to discover that I was mistaken. Badly.
Little Shop of Horrors (1986) - should've probably gotten this. I could tell you who did the original though...
Paris - When it Sizzles
The Gods Must Be Crazy
The Opium War (1997)
Bullitt

Frankly, I wasn't even familiar with some of those films.

It seems he has two more. I sure hope Kunz-y doesn't mind me pointing them out...

I saw that one but didn't like it because it seems like it was made by someone who doesn't understand what makes quotes iconic. Ace Ventura...really?

Are you kidding, my friends and I quote lines from Ace Ventura all of the time...stupid Jim Carrey movies are classics...

"Hello, I'm looking for Ray Finkle...and a new pair of shorts."

I don't think it matters, it's a test of every movie ever made and that's why I like these quizzes.

Just took the quiz. 17/26. Took fucking forever to find acceptable spellings for Truffaut and Verhoeven.
