Yeah but at least it had enough violent deaths to breka up the monotony, unlike all of Shymalan's other films, all of which I found tedious to sit through, especially Signs.

I thought that the Good Shepherd was incredibly good film, I recently watched it for the fourth time, it happened to be on HBO, and the near three hours flew by in flash. I agree the beginning is the worst part of the movie, but I still think its good. I actually really liked the way Damon portrayed Edward, he was cold, silent, and unemotional exactly what he was supposed to be and what you would expect from the head of counterintelligence of the CIA. I thought it was one of the best spy movies ever even though it wasn't filled with action it was extremely intelligent.

The Patriot? I don't understand how this could be considered dull, especially considering the fact that you love action no matter what Vex.

"Wedding Crashers." This flick put me off of current mainstream comedies for good. I've never felt as though a movie was trying to bludgeon me to death with its 'humor' more than this one did (though "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" came awfully close). In comparison to other bawdy, R-rated comedies, this made "Stripes" look like a Truffaut film.

This is why I love this forum so much, you mention two movies that i've watched who knows how many times as ones that were agonizing for you to sit through just once lol. I'm not making fun, I just think it's neat that's all.

Perhaps your long-term memory is significantly worse than mine. You seem to have forgotten the brief but infinitely, crisply memorable moment in which Schindler is frolicking in bed with his non-emaciated, non-running, and thoroughly naked mistress. The details are impressed clearly upon my memory, as though carved into living marble, despite being displayed in jittery fast-forward thanks to a quick-thinking and not especially free-spirited history teacher.

And I'm pretty sure I didn't see Requiem for a Dream until I was in college. I was slightly underwhelmed and thought that it received unfair recognition over its predecessor, Pi.

And I disagree with you about Requiem for a Dream. Pi is a very good film about obsession, but Requiem for a Dream is a great film about the American Dream. It's the Pulp Fiction to Pi's Reservoir Dogs. Still, this is not the forum for this so I'll throw in another interminable-seeming film:

The Seven Samurai: I think there are a lot of good things about it, but man did it go on and on. It didn't help that the copy I was watching said it was 144 minutes when in fact it was 207. It just kept going and going and going...

I can't actually think of a single movie to contribute. I must say that some movies that I really love have shown up in this thread. I guess one man's agonizing is another man's thrilling.

I'd say Akira Kurosawa's Dreams had a few segments where I was on the brink of losing my sanity. I'd still recommend it though. There are 2-3 pieces that are terrific. I just wish the whole thing was.

Batman & Robin Two hours and ten minutes that seemed to run on for nearly four hours.

Hannibal (2001): It was on tv and it was 2 1/2 hours with commercial, but the film was a violent bore with only one good performance.

"Crash" (1996)... the film where Cronenberg forgets to shock. Even once.
"Munich" (2005)... the most hollow effort of Spielberg's "serious" career. A film with excellent technical credentials, but no heart or soul.
"The Piano Teacher" (2001)... I nearly slept during this one. Apparently, Michael Haneke is efficient at churning stomachs with his bleak cinematic odysseys. I remain unmoved.

So, out of all the bad movies that you've sat through completely, you couldn't watch the entire Bourne Ultimatum? I find this particularly strange if you've also seen the first two before it and didn't hate them. If you sat through The Bourne Supremecy than surely you could sit through The Bourne Ultimatum.

I thought the Bourne Supremacy was an incredibly mediocre film. Enjoyably forgettable--2.5 stars. So I sat down to watch Ultimatum simply because it got such critical acclaim and then realized that I didn't really want to. I had no more interest in the series and could think of a whole lot of things I'd rather be doing than watching it. So I sent it back to Netflix

I liked Bourne Ultimatum better than the Bourne Identity and Supremacy, a lot more actually. So I think it might be able to squeak up to three stars in your opinion because that was about my view of Bourne Supremacy, 2.5. But i gave Ultimatum 3. Though it is still the same style movie and characters so maybe not.

For what it's worth, I enjoyed Ultimatum a lot more than Supremacy, but I think I'm in the minority by liking Identity far more than either one of them. The editing and camerawork of Identity are comprehensible, and Bourne makes for a far more human hero as well.
