a-HA, you downloader!!

 the guy was on the poster and the dvd cover.
how come you were surprised when you saw his face emerge ? :D

i know, i KNOW.

cuz i felt the same way.

I too was surprised by his appearance. And I watched it on DVD. If he is on the cover, it can't be very prominent. Or maybe I am not very observant.

Didn't you watch the trailer? He's in it enough to say "Hey, that's Ralph Fiennes." and then he was advertised! I'm going with Trevor's theory that none of you are observant.

Yep it often works backwards (after someone reached stardom - then we see a movie again after many years).

I was surprised seeing Kevin Spacey in Se7en, already the first time since he is uncredited.

I was even more surprised seeing Johnny Depp in "Platoon".

The classic sweaty Harrison Ford in Apocalypse Now is a great moment. I agree.

on a smaller scale: a yet-to-become tv actress Pamela Sue Martin in 1972's "The Poseidon Adventure"

Walther Matthau, credited as Walter Matuschanskayasky, as the drunk in "Earthquake".

There must be dozens more, I just can't remember right now. Perhaps later.

How about John C. McGinley in anything he did before he was Perry Cox in Scrubs.

Let's see:
-Platoon
-Born on the Fourth of July
-Point Break
-On Deadly Ground
-Office Space
-Seven
-The Rock
-Office Space

Don't forget that Car 54 Where Are You? film that everyone seems to hate with a passion.

If I had to pick, my favorite cameo would probably be Jeff Goldblum in Annie Hall.

"Doctor, I forgot my mantra."

I just finished watching "Annie Hall" and saw the following:

Christopher Walken
Jeff Goldblum
and Sigourney Weaver.

I said "Holy Crap".

I always liked him; he reminds me of Christopher Walken. His best performance was in the very slightly underrated Go.

Gary Cole as the voice of Harvey Birdman in Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law. I had the same reaction several months ago when I found out Stephan Colbert did voices on HB: AAL.

And yes, animation does count.

Allright, I've got two Wire-related ones

Clay Davis' appearance in 25th Hour is a great example of this, especially since he even managed to drop a few sheeeeeeeiiiiiits in there. And then Mayor Royce popping up in the open of the criminally underrated Deep Cover. He was dynamite in that movie

Heather Graham in The Hangover and Winona Ryder in Star Trek.

I just found this out and it didn't even occur to me while I was watching it.

Nina Myers from 24 is Bella's mom from Twilight! My mind is blown in the most painful way possible!

Jason Bateman in "Dodgeball".

I had been watching "Arrested Development" all month than "Dodgeball" showed up on TV and I forgot he had played Gary Cole's sidekick in it.

I thought of a good one. The dad from Boy Meets World in American History X. It's made even more surreal when he actually says the "n word."

I just had one of these moments tonight while seeing The Hurt Locker. It actually took her second appearance for me to recognize the main character's ex-wife as none other than Evangeline Lilly (Kate) from Lost. She only says about twenty words in the whole movie, but it was still nice to see her off the island.

Definite +1. A part of me died during that scene.

J.T Walsh and William H. Macy popped up in House of Games for a New York minute (or two).
