I run 3 web businesses and we'd never run an ad like this
It drives users away - terrible CTRs as well

Since you've got the original post maybe you could/should/would change the subject to AD PROBLEM or something like that. Methinks James hasn't noticed thissa thread.

This is obviously bothering people. A temporary workaround if you're using Firefox or Chrome is to install Adblock Plus, but do NOT install any filters. That will allow all ads. Then simply right click on the ad and click "Block Image".

I need more information about the ad, like what domain it points to. Since I have never encountered the ad personally (and I re-load the site 15-20 per day specifically to check for issues like this), I have to rely on secondhand reports. If someone can provide me with a domain, I can block it across-the-board, which will stop the ads. Without that information, it can be next to impossible to track down the offender.
