Re: GENTLEMAN'S AGREEMENT (1947) Oh I'm so glad JB liked this. I think it holds up rather well today, despite the few strident moments he touches upon. My big problem with the movie is that Gregory Peck ends up with the wrong woman. Who would pick annoying, borderline anti-Semitic Dorothy McGuire over the delightful Celeste Holm?

I'm surprised you feel that way James. Kunz that is, though this could apply to The Dark Lord also. I found the film to be incrdibly dated but still thought it was good. Solid *** pick for me. I'm with you on the ladies though. The woman he chose was a complete bitch. I was sure he'd end up with the other one. |
