I knew this wouldn't be very good so I'm not surprised in the least by your review. One question though, how was Guy Pearce? You didn't discuss his performance much at all.

It seems like spring has become that time of year when we can expect to get another crappy film with Nic Cage in it. That makes me sad, because he's been in some films that I've liked, such as Face/Off and Raising Arizona.

Yeah, not to mention Leaving Las Vegas and Matchstick Men

Too bad about this film. Everyone, check out "I Saw the Devil," which is available in crisp HD on Netflix Instant.

Sounds decent, but not worth paying to see in theaters.

Is it just my browser (Chrome) or is most of the review in italic?

He's working for Aussie Roger Donaldson,

I'm not sure he would appreciate that: even though he was born in Australia, he is very much a New Zealander.

Mine too. And it's not just Chrome.

Yeah, most of the review's Italic for me too in Firefox. Probably JB forgetting to close an <i> tag.

And Moonstruck. And Birdy. And Wild at Heart. And Adaptation. And Lord of War. And Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans. And he's been rather good in some bad films too, such as The Rock or Con Air.

You have to admire Nicolas Cage. He must be the hardest working man in showbusiness at the moment. Here's a man who is hugely in debt to the taxman and who had to sell off his Bavarian castle and Bahamas island. But does he get depressed and curls up in a corner, sobbing uncontrollably? No, he rolls up his sleeves and takes any job that comes his way to pay his debts, tucking into roles, which require him to pee flaming urine with gusto.

Therefore, we should all appreciate Nicolas Cage for his work ethic. Unless he's asleep on the job as in The Sorcerer's Apprentice and Season of the Witch, that is.

And finally, Nic Cage has an excuse for taking on any role available to him. What's Al Pacino's excuse for Jack and Jill?
