"Heavy-handed" and "Crash-like" seem pretty redundant to me.
I've never even heard of this movie, but your review makes me pretty certain I want to avoid it at all costs. Any chance the original director's cut surfaces some day? And any chance the addition or Sean Penn and a half-hour of movie could redeem this one?

Having read a description of Penn's scenes (there were only two), the movie is probably better without them.

I am looking forward to seeing this movie. I miss the press screening so i have to wait to it comes out but i don't think it opening in Philly. Only New York.
