Jackass has an almost undeniable charm (que Vexer, "Well I found it deniable.") and more often than not is just goddamn hilarious. Also, comments such as "He's like Bunuel with farts" are why I missed Mark so much. The alligator in Bam's moms kitchen is still the funniest fucking shit, that woman has got to be a saint.

However, I got a doozy. Most the entirety of Monty Python & the Holy Grail.
"Well that depends, is it a European Swallow or an African Swallow?"
"What? I don't know."
Or the beauty that is this exchange;
"And how do we know she is a witch?"
"Well she turned me into a newt!"
"...a newt?"
"...I got better..."
(random villager): "Burn her anyway!"
I got two more lines for you
"I'm not dead yet!"
"Oh shut up, you will be soon."

The Life of Brian, when the mob turn up at his window.

(Brian) "You are all individuals"

(Mob, en-masse) "We are all individuals"

(voice from the back) "I'm not"

(Mob) "Shhhhhh"

You may think it isn't absolutely hilarious. But you're wrong. It is.

I'm not for certain which is the fucking funniest thing...but I am certain it came from one of these movies:

Animal House
Ghostbusters
Trading Places
Coming to America
Stripes
Caddyshack
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
Windy City Heat
National Lampoons Vacation
Dumb and Dumber
Ace Ventura's Pet Detective
A Fish called Wanda

....but really...any movie Vexer likes after a six pack of cold beers.

Arguably favorite sight gag of all time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8cDfnQD0ws

One-liner that got the biggest laugh out out of me: (0:45): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wvbnR_cT0A

Scene that made me laugh so hard in theaters that my sides hurt and I was PRAYING the movie would get less funny because if I laughed any more, I was going to die: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9p3zRdGJd0Q

You know, comedy is so subjective. On the one hand you have the non-sequitor exchanges of Monty Python and on the other you've got a Jackass crapping in a hardware store toilet.

Last night I watched the Coens' True Grit and some of the exchanges between Mattie Ross and the horse trader or La Boeuf were some of the funniest I've seen. Others might not get that from these scenes. Seeing the paint bomb explode in Raising Arizona* was funny as hell.

*one of the posters got me onto a Coens kick recently ;)

That entire scene is jaw-dropping. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upvZdVK913I

"Hep me! Hep me!" Jesus H., I can hardly believe it exists at all. This is my favorite submission so far. Cleavon Little giving one of the great comedic performances of the seventies.

National Lampoons Vacation

I used to live across from a 7/11 and grew to love the terrifying preserved meats preserved between two pieces of what could only charitably called bread. I caught Vacation as an adult and heard Chevy Chase say "I'm so hungry I could eat a sandwich from a gas station," and realized that I had been desperate and unmoored, my memories of those good days a false image superimposed over a near-death struggle.

Sorry, but nothing about Jackass 3 was at all funny for me, this review pretty much mirrors my opinion exactly:

It's not as painful to watch as most of the other stuff in the film, but I can't say I really found it funny.

Off the top of my head, I think the following three films have been the hardest I've laughed in a theater...

Dumb & Dumber (1994)
There's Something About Mary (1998)
Kung-Pow! Enter the Fist (2002)

This scene has me in stitches every time-- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWivulBg3w4

That Lars von Trier is such a jolly fellow.

That made me laugh, but you should have cut out the second line to make it more of a surprise

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZR58d77a4A - This would be my number one choice.

The part in Flying High when Kramer get's asked if he should put on the landing lights. "No, that's just what they'd be expecting us to do."

The scene in Happiness when Phillip Seymour Hoffman wakes up to find the overweight neighbour in his apartment.

That, the revelation of what Jackie Treehorn jotted down, Goodman's celebration of Jewish ritual... not even one of my favorite movies but I can't deny that it's got hilarious scene, one after another.

Yeah, it really is comedy gold. The look on Dude's face when he see's the "revelation" is one for the ages.
