Post Best Scenes in the Rain
Rain is effective. What are some of your favorite scenes that take place while it's raining?

Blade Runner - Tears in the rain.

Road to Perdition - I'm Glad It's You

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_4Sx5NtOPM

Great scenes.

I'll go for the obvious here with Singing in the Rain with awesome Gene Kelly dancing. It doesn't get much more iconic than that as far as movies go.

The only scene that brings a strong connection with rain was from Caddyshack for me. The bishop playing the round of his life in a howling gale with Carl the groundskeeper as his caddy.

Some scenes from The Life of Pi were pretty memorable for the rain, but again more so due to the intensity than just for the rain.

Two great choices. Love both scenes, love both films.

I could say Shawshank Redemption or Jurassic Park, but I'll go with an unexpected one. The ending to Back to the Future Part II, when lightning strikes the Delorean, Doc disappears, and Marty ends up stuck in 1955.

I definitely left out Shawshank so that I didn't take all the good ones!

The rain scene in 'Magnolia' would be pretty hard to top. I'd nominate that as one of most amazing scenes (period) ever. One of those special, "what the fuck is happening" moments.

Love you for this. Favorite movie of the 90s and one of my top ten favorite films period. I'll play the sucker here and add the ending to Breakfast at Tiffany's.

The scene where the kid is killed in Monster's Ball.

Marianne and Colonel Brandon in Sense and Sensibility.

Some classics from Spielberg:

Jurassic Park, when the power goes down. The Lost World, when they go over the cliff. Amistad, the opening mutiny.

Vin Diesel's death, Saving Private Ryan. Failure to kill Salame in London, Munich. Mini-van overtaken by a desperate mob, War of the Worlds.

And then two from War Horse: the first a blessing, the second a curse.

For War of the Worlds I'd go with the attack of the ferry. One of Spielberg's best mixes of awe and terror.

Absolutely. I just wasn't sure if that was a rain scene. As I remember, it's snowing at first, but then raining by the time Cruise and kids get to the shore. Astonishing scene though.

I looked it up on Youtube to double check ;) There is also the T-Rex attack from Jurassic Park. My favorite part of that scene was his decision to forego background music.

I'm gonna throw in the sex scene from The Departed simply because it starts with Billy running in from out of the rain, and the scene is great.

Definitely agreed on the scene from Road to Perdition. Magnificent scene.

A couple of more great ones:

The car chase in We Own the Night

The last 20 minutes of Identity
