I'm a bit late to the party, so I thought I'd break the rules and throw in a few I like that haven't been mentioned yet:

"Superman" (at the end of the The Iron Giant. I cried like a little kid for that scene.)

"I am not an animal! I am a human being! I...am...a man!" The Elephant Man

"Get away from me! You stink of dead bodies!" - The Hidden Fortress

Quasimodo, the bell-ringer: [to one of the stone gargoyles] "Why was I not made of stone like thee?" - The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1939)

"How tragic that man can never realize how beautiful life is until he is face to face with death" - Ikiru

"I live in a highly excited state of overstimulation." - Videodrome

Cool to see a quote from the great Ikiru

*Clark Kent walks into Diner*

Mean Guy in Diner: "Hey, give me another plate of this garbage!"

Clark Kent: "Gee, that's funny, I've never seen garbage eat garbage before."

----

My favorite line in any superhero movie, ever.

my favorite movie line of all time. It's too funny.

Winner!

To this I'll add...

"Get busy living, or get busy dying." from Shawshank Redemption.

"The Seventh Seal" is a great film for quotes. Most of my favorites belong to the squire including the advice he gives to the blacksmith.

"Love is the blackest of all plagues, but you don't even die of it, and usually it passes.
. . . If everything is imperfect in this world, love is perfect in its imperfection."

"I ain't got time to bleed."

I find it fascinating that a movie like Predator employs two state governors. I keep waiting for Carl Weathers to run for office.

saw a little indian indie movie last night(for the 3rd time), so it reminded me. its not the best piece of dialogue, but i loved it.

Khosla Ka Ghosla - a weird comedy.

"aapke to do bete ho gaye ek. gusse wala, ek ainak walla"
translation - "well, you've got two sons. one with anger, the other with glasses."

i guess you have to see it in context.

His character is WAY over the top in that movie...but that line absolutely slayed me.

from All the President's Men:

"...Nothing's riding on this except the, uh, first amendment to the Constitution, freedom of the press, and maybe the future of the country. Not that any of that matters, but if you guys fuck up again, I'm going to get mad. Goodnight."

It's from Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. Loaded with quotable goodness.

Of course!

Thanks for the help, Damaj. I totally spaced out.

You're right. That movie is full of quotable goodness.

"I love lamp."

George: ...it's okay...

Just one? That's nearly an impossible choice, but if I was to ignore all the big ones everyone would choose I would probably pick one scene from Road Trip when the dope smoker hands the weed to an old man, and his dog starts talking.

"Hey, old man. I got the fucking munchies real bad. How about you?"

I pick this because my father, who even when he thinks something is really funny doesn't show it much, howeled and howeled and howeled with laughter.

What? No mention of lines from Swimming w/Sharks? I had to register to remedy that...
Almost all of Kevin Spacey's lines in that movie, imo, are classic.

My fave short line probably is "You're happy! I hate that!"

But the entire movie is like one great line.
