The A Team: Who do you think should play each charactor?

Post The A Team: Who do you think should play each charactor?
Hannibal Smith: Liam Neeson. I'm not so sure about this casting. he is a little too serious for this roll. How about Mel Gibson. I know he is not too popular at the moment, but he could play the charactor with a small maniacal edge to it. Also what about John C. McGinley.
Face: Bradley Cooper. I like this choice. He was very good in Hangover. He has a strong enough screen presence to pull it off.
BA Baracus: I have never seen "Common" on anything, how and ever he looks the part form the pictures of him I've seen. As an alternitive what about Erik King, he played Doakes in Dexter. He definatley has that BAD ATTITUDE vibe about him.
Murdoch: Zach Braff. He could play the nerdy type charactor quiet well. He has also played quite zany charactors especially in scrubs.
Amy: Courtney Cox or Jennifer Anniston. let them fight it out for the role.
Sergent Decker: Tommy Lee Jones. He could go all "fugitive" on their asses.

No one can replace Mr. T. Period. I just can't see it.

I can actually see George Clooney as Hannibal. Don't know why.

I like Tommy Lee Jones as Decker. Maybe Chris Cooper.

Jack Black as Murdoch on personality alone. Jim Carrey would be a more likely choice.

Having trouble coming up with Face. Dirk Bennedict was slightly smarmy, yet likable. I'll take a shot and say Colin Farrell.

Edit: I meant Chris Cooper, not Chris Cox.

Whoa, wait a minute. Someone is actually doing a film version of The A Team? Seriously?

yeah they are.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0429493/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_A-Team#Feature_film

im not too sure about all this though.
true, that ive hardly seen anything of the tv series, but there's just something about this...
no one can replace Mr.T. damaj has it right. it'd be best if they just formed a new character. although that doesn't sound too great either.

For the love of God, WHY?! :x

Ok, I realize that it's easier for Hollywood writers to rehash old TV series or previously-made films than it is to actually come up with something *original*. But seriously, Jesus....!

Hollywood remaking a TV show? Since when did that start happening?

I like the idea of Common as Mr. T.
He has been good in his supporting roles so far, and he definitely has the look.

I'd vastly prefer Eddie Murphy as Mr. T over some overrated flavor of the month rapper.

Who is overrating him? I enjoy some of his music, but not that much. There have been plenty of rappers who have turned out to be decent actors (Ice Cube, Mos Def).

As I said, I think his performances thus far have been pretty strong (Wanted, Terminator, etc.) I would also prefer an actor that won't overshadow everyone else with his own persona like Murphy inevitably does.

Oh boy did I love this show!!

The premise was great, but unless it's a 70's/80's period flick, the whole 'Nam era soldier of fortune would need to be updated to, at least, a Gulf War group...

Hannibal Smith; The leader. Intelligent and wise with experience; dry with a cutting sense of humor and not to be trifled with... George Peppard left some big shoes to fill. I wonder if Chris Cooper could do it? Is Val Kilmer still around? Colonel could be played by an older actor and be believeable. Hell maybe even Viggo Mortensen or, uh, well, Bruce Willis is probably too old. Robert Downey jr. is too big now, and so is Christian Bale. Thomas Hayden Church as well but I'd watch any.
Face man: Templeton Peck. Gotta be a looker who could charm the mittens off an eskimo. BUT, how young can you go and still have him taken seriously. I'd be leaning toward a smarmy DeCaprio -Catch Me if You Can- type actor.
BA Baracus: I'm okay with Vin Diesel. All Mr. T did was chew on the scenery and characters around him.
Howling Mad Murdoch: Dwight Schultz owned this role. ANYbody else would have to reinvent the character or be apeing Schult'z perfomance. I bet Sacha Baron Cohen could do wonders with this role.

Amy: Katie Holmes or (insert forgetable, yet attractive current leading lady here) This character didn't make the show.

(I'm not sure he was a Sargent) Col Decker: Ditto above. Any commanding, sneering modern bad guy with limited range will do. Micheal Rooker would do...

We'll see what they give us...

How about Brandon Dicamillo from Viva La Bam as Face?

Yeah your probably right now tha tI thnk about it, and i'm not saying all rappers cna't act, but I just don't think Common is right for the role, Ice Cube would be a better choice come to think of it, it would be the perfect comeback role for him!

i think that someone put Mickey Rourke forward for Hanibal Smith, I think he would be quite good.
i would love to see Sacha Baron cohen as Murdoch. He would be perfect.
Face has already been picked. Bradley Cooper. I like this choice. He was very good in Hangover. i think that he has enough charm to pull the role off.

Post Re: The A Team: Who do you think should play each charactor?
Hope you don't mind me thinking aloud:

Hannibal Smith: As mentioned abve: George Clooney would be a good choice. He is suave and doesn't take himself too seriously (if required). Wait a minute: Robert DeNiro (too old, taking himself too seriously?)

Capt. H.M. "Howling Mad" Murdock: many choices: Steve Buscemi; Val Kilmer; Robert Downey Jr. (pefect, but perhaps too big a name)

Sgt. Bosco "B.A." Baracus: Hmmm, Ving Rhames - he's as badass as Mr. T; Will Smith (for star power); Ice Cube: I think he fits the role just fine.

Lt. Templeton 'Faceman' Peck: Carry Elwes (doesn't get more 'old school' smarmy than that). Need (even) more star power? Jude Law perhaps? Jeff Bridges (perfect, but perhaps too old)...

Hannibal - Kurt Russell

B.A. - Tiny Lister

Peck - Matthew McConaughey

Murdock - Bruce Campbell

I know it's a stretch, but if it was MY movie, that's what I'd want...

I've never seen the A-Team in any incarnation but I'll second Kurt Russell as the lead, anyway. Whatever it takes to get Kurt Russell back into lead roles, back into some big movies... whatever it is, someone make it happen. Hire this man!

Copy that!

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."

Dwight Yoakum would make an excellent Murdock.

Oh hell yes! Kurt Russell makes all those jokes about Chuck Norris even better. Seriously. Replace Kurt Russell with "Chuck Norris" on this page and you've got nothing but the truth.

The wife just suggested Michael Clarke Duncan as BA Baracus.

I'm holding with my Sacha Baron Cohen as Murdoch pick.

As long as I get these two, I'll be there on opening night.
