 How I Met Your Mother
Absolutely Amazing! How I Met Your Mother is one of those shows that only comes around once in a blue moon. This show has everything. It's got a great cast, cool story plot, hilarious jokes, and running gags that last over seasons.
You have Josh Radnor as Ted Mosby, the protagonist who over the course of the show will end up meeting "the mother" of his kids.
There's the talented voice of Bob Saget as future Ted, who is telling the story of how he met his kids' mother through a series of flashbacks.
Not to mention Cobie Smulders, as kickass Canadian Robin Scherbatsky, who has proven that she can be one of the bros, and first comes into play as Ted's love interest in the pilot.
Then we come to Alyson Hannigan and Jason Segel, as Lily Aldrin and Marshall Eriksen, the married couple of the group, whose initials just happen to spell LAME!
Last but not least is Neil Patrick Harris who plays the womanizing, suit loving, mysterious, adventurous, child-at-heart, and magical Barney Stinson who in the fourth season realizes that he's in love with Robin.
The entire premise of the show is great, and you couldn't ask for a better cast of characters. They have such a natural chemistry with each other. This show is still going strong and promises to be one of the best sitcoms ever.

Re: How I Met Your Mother
This was recommended to me, mostly because I like Jason Segel.
I just couldn't get past the laugh-track and other basic sitcom conventions though. It doesn't do anything to distinguish itself for me.

Re: How I Met Your Mother
This show would be LEAGUES better without a laugh track...but then again every show I watched with narration has to live up to Arrested Development in my mind...so it'll never win lol. Maybe i'll give it another shot but laugh tracks drive me nuts. They remind me too much of watching TGIF on ABC over 10 years ago.

It's a terrific show. I've seen the first three seasons and am waiting for the fourth to be released.

Easily one of the best programs on tv. I missed last season because I lack Tivo or a working vcr. My hope is that it will arrive on dvd before the next season kicks off.
The Robin Sparkles video was amazing. Love all the Canada jokes peppered throughout the series.

Eh, loads of people whose opinions I really respect seem to love this show so much, but of the few episodes I've seen of it, it just seems like kinda average CBS sitcommy stuff

Currently watching Season 4. This show is still great. The Naked Man and Little Minnesota are great episodes. I'm eagerly awaiting to see if the slap bet continues or concludes. Pins and needles....pins and needles.

Great episode last night. The inclusion of Tim Horton's automatically made it awesome.

It's quite refreshing to see Bob Saget involved in a good sitcom.

Re: How I Met Your Mother
I think I'd like the show more if they replaced Josh Radnor with someone who was... I don't know, interesting?
Maybe he's improved immensely since the show started, but I found him kind of annoying during the few episodes I watched. He's not outright awful or anything, just dull.

^ | This. I'd throw it into her in a second. Hard. So hard that she'd be walking bowlegged for a month.

Re: How I Met Your Mother
Also, Ted was the biggest douchebag in that last episode (Say Cheese). I mean, he's almost universally acknowledged as annoying. The producers need to do something about it. Never knew what the big deal with Alysan was. I mean, I just don't see it. Robin, on the other hand... But Alysan does have some of the funniest lines---one of my favourites being, "Mama needs it bad".
