Post El Rey Director's Chair
Was channel surfing the other day and ran across a show called The Director's Chair. Never heard of it and only caught the last half-hour of what, apparently, was the debut show. It is a standard one-on-one interview format and the guest was John Carpenter. One of the ads implied it would be an ongoing series, but didn't reveal which directors would be up in the future. I'm not a big fan of these type of interview shows, but I figured I would mention the show and channel since I'd never heard of either before. Just looked up El Rey. Apparently it was a channel added as part of some agreement to add minority owned content and it is described as an English language channel oriented toward Latino's and will bring a lot of grind house to the game. Still haven't found any info on upcoming director guests.

An episode with Guillermo del Toro is airing now (I missed most of it) and will be followed by Quentin Tarantino (vol. 1 it says in the guide). Looks like Robert Rodriguez, the director host of the show, has put together a pretty interesting list of guests so far.

Last post to this thread - I promise.

Tarantino vol. 1 was early career, Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. Vol. 2 appears like its going to focus on Kill Bill and Inglourious Basterds. They showed some stills from Django while discussing some of his favorite actors in vol. 1, so I assume there may be some talk about it as well. Never really paid attention to Tarantino but always heard he's even quirkier than his movies. Seemed like a well sorted person in this setting though.
