writer:no

Studio exec: Explain this to me.
Writer: *says three things*
Studio exec: Sold! Bring it in and we'll get to work on it. (Translation: We'll run it by a series of committees and focus groups packed with the most tasteless idiots we can find, then rewrite your movie over and over again until it has no resemblance to your original idea whatever. Maybe we'll give you first crack at it.)

---

Studio exec: Explain this to me.
Writer: *says four or more things*
Studio exec: Get out.

---

Studio exec: Explain this to me.
Writer: *says two things, both of which deliberately have nothing to do with each other, save for being juxtaposed in the same story... for example, a classic movie monster and a famous historical figure*
Studio exec: Hm... I'll think about it.

(Studio exec goes to the bathroom, takes a dump, snorts some cocaine, fields a few phone calls, snorts some cocaine, visits the coffee machine, snorts some more cocaine, and comes back.)

Studio exec: Can we spin this thing into a long-running brand name for movies, video games, comic books, and action figures?
Writer (who does not know what this means): Sure.
Studio exec: Sold!

Studio Exec: then get out
