 Re: The great cartoons.As far as I'm concerned, where Warners fell short in technological sophistication, they more than made up for in the sophistication of their technique. They far outstripped Disney in their daring and innovation.
At some point, Tex Avery said, "Hey, guys, these are cartoons... we can make the faces and bodies do anything we want." After that, Disney couldn't touch them. |

Yes I agree along with many: Warner Bros. cartoons during the 1940s were much more innovative and wacky than the still rather tame Disney output. Dare I say that this short combines wacky humor with stunnig visual beauty (something Warner Bros. never even treid to achieve).
