If God exists, why does He need to be recognized?

Belief in context of faith implies that there is no factual basis for the belief. Belief based in faith and belief based in fact are a dichotomy.

I prefer another question: "Why should we worship him, if he exists?"

I like to put it this way: If you constructed a house for your children, would you deliberately build it with structural flaws that will lead to injury and death? Nah, didn´t think so.

But god puts us in a planet with earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis, you name it. Italy is the latest example. How many of the victims were decent, hard-working individuals, who didn`t deserve to die, but did because of the incompetence of an allegedly perfect architect? Worship that? No, thanks.

One of the fundamental principles of my faith is accepting the fact that God does not think like human beings. This also explains everything we will never understand while on this Earth.

But if cannot understand God, then why do we assume he does? Why do we assume God even likes us.

For all intents and purposes, God hates us dsn't give a shit about us.

Assuming of course that God even exists.

Why not? That's my answer. A lot of people not only recognise but worship fictional film characters. I'm one of them. Same with God. If we take the story as real and if after the things he had tried (kill off the human race with the flood then see that he was wrong to do so) deals with our wrongs in a progressive way, Jesus, then why not?

Excuse me if I don´t contribute to the intelligent debate, but I just think this topic has been exhausted, not here but in general. We´ve all heard all the arguments for and against, there´s nothing new.

Instead, let´s have some fun. Here´s George Carlin´s brilliant analysis of the ten commandments: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkRYaMiP4K8

(This also brings a question to mind: Does god have a sense of humor? If he saw this, would he laugh at the absurdity of it all, as much as Carlin´s fans?)
