Are you fluent in other languages, Vexer? I'm asking because your above quote seems to imply that you are multilingual, and thus are able to determine whether the subtitles are accurate?

As a disclaimer, I am fluent in Japanese and I can say that for the Japanese films I've seen, the subtitles were accurate (although I have not seen any Japanese films on Netflix).

Well I certainly didn't mean to imply that, i'm not multi-lingual.

Hi Vexer. I asked whether you were fluent in other languages because in your quote above, you said you had no problems with the subtitles on Netflix, that they seem accurate. But how would you know they were accurate, without understanding the spoken language in that film (e.g. Spanish, French, Japanese)?

Well I wasn't aware that you were refering to languages oher then English, I thought you were saying the subtitles were messed up for non-foreign films, so my mistake.

is this going to be completely random or do you have a general idea of what you want to review. Also can we recommend a film.

I have about two month's worth of selections. After that, I'll probably open it up to submissions.

I’m delighted about your twitter recommendations for excellent films, both U.S. and Foreign as well as old and newer. Despite being averse to streaming (due to subtitling, special features, deleted scenes absences or inflexibilities), I do buy DVDs to watch, sometimes repeatedly. I have a preference for English SDH subtitling, especially with British audio.

I was delighted to watch the selection of May 1: “April Snow” on DVD. There was a minute cut from the ending, unfortunately. However, the full ending was available on YouTube, which removed some ambiguity in the DVD's version.

I keep track of the films that I have viewed and loved and I am excited to suggest some of my favorites to you (in this forum) in the future.
(See <arkaye.com/filmlist.shtml> )

I used to be indecisive, but now I’m not so sure.
